Biography of Phrixus
PHRIXUS
Phrixus was born on the ninth of november 1984 in Waregem, Belgium. His passion for music started in the third year at primary school. As a Christmasgift he got a 3 octave keyboard from his parents, and that's where it all started. One year later he began to follow classical music lessons. He chose piano for instrument, which he played for 7 years, then he wanted to start producing dance music so he quit following the lessons.At the age of 14 he bought himself his first synth. His classical education has been and still is a great help for playing keyboard and creating melodies. Now he's still extending his homestudio.
At 15 year he bought a small mixer and a double cd player so he started to develop his dj-skills. One year later he bought 2 technics and started to buy vinyls. Since then he has been dj-ing on some smaller parties and a local pub, awaiting bigger challenges to come.
The etymological meaning of Phrixus is 'thrilling, causing shivers', derived from Greek phrix 'ripple, shiver'.
In Greek myth Phrixus was the son of Athamus and Nephele. He was to be sacrificed to Zeus,
but he escaped with his sister Helle on the back of the ram with the Golden Fleece.
Dj Phrixus stands for techno. You can expect some tracks and sets in the near future !
