Biography of Selffish

selffish alias andrew eigus (born 1973) is a sound designer and an ambient music producer from latvia. he composes nocturnal laid-back melodies fused with minimal beats and tranquillity of peaceful themes, all together creating a unique ambient sound. the major contribution to the intensity and creativity of his production is made by various samples he obtains from field recordings across the baltic landscapes, laced with human voice, his playing the retro grand piano and other acoustic instruments. over the past five years selffish has become an active member of the riga electronic music scene. in addition to giving his own concerts, his experience also includes organising modern music festivals in high-grade locations (old ancestral castles, floating art-galleries etc.). he is also a co-founder of +371 records label in riga, which houses intelligent ambient music for lounge places and thoughtful minds. additionally, selffish is a regular artist at the german dub-inspired music net label 'thinner'.

he sings, plays the piano and the keyboard, records sounds in the countryside and composes ambient music from the obtained samples.
