In todays ever changing face of music Larry McCormick aka Exzakt has carved his own space as an artist and business man from holding down a spot on one of Germany’s most prestigious Techno labels Datapunk, running one of the most influential Electro labels Monotone, to operating various websites like Electrowax Online Record Store and Electro Alliance. Larry has support from some of the top Techno/Electro masterminds such as Dave Clarke, Billy Nasty, and Anthony Rother. Larry was named in Urb Magazines Next 100 as one of the top up and coming performers in electronic music period.

In 2005 Larry moved to Frankfurt, Germany where he jumped into the European DJ circuit playing and in turn being invited back to top notch clubs Fuse, The Loft, and Coppelia 101. He also joined Databooks - Datapunk’s booking / artist management which is a very exclusive and small booking agency rostering the likes of Anthony Rother, Billy Nasty, Funk D Void, and Gregor Tresher. Larry’s DJing skills are undeniably energetic yet deep bridging the many facets of electro while pushing the limit of the sound into other genres. Larry has traveled the U.S. and around the globe reaching hot spots such as Budapest, Brussels, London, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Madrid, and Frankfurt just to name a few.

As a producer Larry has quite a discography in 6 short years of production releasing 3 full length albums and 25 twelve inch singles/E.P.s on top electro labels Datapunk, Satamile, Psi49net as well as his own Monotone U.S.A. imprint. Larry has also appeared on many compilations from Sony's 'This is not the 80's' to 'In Electro We Trust' which is a who's who of electro featuring exclusive tracks from The Hacker, Advent, Carl Finlow, Alexander Kowalski, and Johannes Heil. As a live performer Larry has headlined stages with the likes of Karl Bartos, DJ Craze, Anthony Rother, Dynamix II, and Jackal & Hyde.

With the growth of the electro movement Larry McCormick continues to work with some of the top personalities in the scene while creating his own identity as an artist and a label. Always looking to the future Larry will continue to help electro music gain the respect it deserves through his efforts on all fronts.

Comment: I would only recommend this mix is if you like slow nature sounding music. I didn't realize that this mix was going to be as slow as it was..Kind of surprising coming from McCormick

Comment: This is one of my favorite of McCormick's Clarity series. In a few words, it is very "beautiful" and "calm" downtempo, resembling IDM more than what most consider "electro" but still has some of Exzakt's inherent electro structure and sounds. One should know that like the other Clarity recordings, it is individually produced tracks and not a mixed-record DJ set. This one marks the beginning of a slight change from the "electro that has been chilled out" sound of Clarity 1 and 2. Instead it is more ambient and prettier to begin with, and this difference is continued for the most part in Clarity 4. Clarity 1 and 2, which, while also very chill out, are a little bit more reminiscent of his darker electro roots.
If you enjoy electro and breaks, but need something a but prettier and more chilled out, this is perfect. Very appropriate for the "come-down" or "morning after the party."
