Biography of David Duriez and Mazi

Founder of 'Les Maçons de La Musique' in 1999, Dj, producer, remixer, label manager, graphic designer, David Duriez is active on the french house music scene since the early nineties. He has been at the forefront of the French house scene for many years.

His refusal to champion the filtered disco-abusing sound of the mid-90’s, has set him apart from those DJs and producers who over saturated the market with disrespectful cut-ups. Instead, David has carved out his own niche with his pigeonhole defying Brique Rouge label, and has helped to redefine the nation’s underground music. One of the most conscientious artists on the scene, the size of David’s discography speaks for itself.

His studio work is alongside an exhaustive DJ schedule, which sees him take his all embracing style of grooved up House to all corners of Europe and beyond, on a weekly basis. David's music is House Music in its purest form. Well known for playing tech influenced underground house music, David always has that funky edge and lots of percussion. Versatile and ahead of the times, it can be deep, slamming, banging or techno influenced, it doesn't make a difference. Repeatedly recognized for his top-ten lists and deemed the producer's producer (since he created a forum specialized in house producers meetings), David Duriez transcends the boundaries of the industry, going a step beyond the banal and delivering the real deal. He is an underground house commando with a prowess for striking deep inside enemy lines : he has been djing since the age of 13 and has been releasing music for the past 10 years.

Duriez’s extensive and sought-after discography includes releases on prestigious labels such as 2020Vision, Gourmet recordings, Ovum, Jinxx, Stickman, Under The Counter, Robsoul Recordings, NRK, Afterhours, Tronicsole, Pokerflat to name but a few, remixes (End Recordings, Serial, F com, Defected etc…) mix cd's (Club house / Bmg - Rocks Da House / Ucmg - Doitas Brique Rouge / Magix,).

Finally, David is releasing his own label’s albums Brique Rouge 1, 2 , 3 & 4 and has involved himself in the making of a downladable mix with AudioFAMILIES : Duriez Downloaded (you can download it freely & legally on www.audioFAMILIES.com)

Comment: 8-) Groovy houseset with some techhouse in it. I don't always follow their choice in music but still, sometimes they play good songs. I heard some sets from Mazi and I prefer him to David. Not my favorite houseset, but I still will listen to it some more times in the future. Their music is catchy and very nice to dance too

Comment: Hi all, someone told me about this David Duriez fella and he seems to sound pretty darn good to me. It seems to me that the french are really doing some serious shit in france, getting off their lazy french arses. I wonder if there are any french female djs too? I like french chics, would like to hear them mix too. Vive la France!
