Biography of De Souza
Sami Hyytiä, better known as De Souza got his first touch to music and records at the age of three. He found his parents vinyl records and started to play records from Michael Jackson and Madonna. Late 80's he found the four elements of hip hop. He started to draw sketches and listen to rap music like Public Enemy, N.W.A. and 2 Live Crew.
Early 90's came along electronic music. KLF, The prodigy, U96 and Jean Michel Jarre to name few. It was Mid 90's when he saw for the first time DMC/Technics world dj championships. Then he decided that he wants his own set of turntables. It took several years until he finally managed to buy his own equipment in year 2002. By that time he had already found his own style of grooving deep tech-house spiced with minimal action, electro and breaks
After that he has spent some time in his bedroom practicing mixing and scratching skills. Though he can also create a special atmosphere with smooth mixing, he is more willing to use different tricks and driving mixing style and that's something that makes him a unique performer. With his personal tricky style he really can take his audience and any party to a higher state.
Even though De Souza has had few gigs at small clubs and events in Helsinki and Espoo, he is still waiting his breakthrough in the Finnish club scene. With his skills and enthusiasm it's going to happen soon, be aware!
