Raised with a background in music, Mr. Miyagi took little time in learning
the art of mixing records. The piano, the saxophone and the guitar all found
their place in his life until picking up the decks in early 2000. Instantly
intrigued by the hidden complexities of mixing, he has never looked back and
has been steadily pounding the harder sound of underground dance ever since.
His diverse sets can and will include flavors from acid techno to uk hard
house to nrg to hard trance to hard techno; expertly mixing all genres in
his trademark aggressive nature. It’s not uncommon to hear bpms wander as
high as 155; while chopping, fading and blending each track into the next,
using efx and turntable tricks to keep the energy levels high. Complemented
by rock solid timing and impeccable programming, Mr. Miyagi’s skill and
drive are unmistakable.
A recent transplant to Chicago, he has been working steadily to earn respect
in the crowded circuit of talented Midwest DJs by relentlessly slamming the
dance floor every time he steps up to the platters. And never one to stand
still, Miyagi can usually be seen rocking out as hard as the partiers. A
hungry and responsive crowd only encourages him to respond by continually
throwing down tracks that are sometimes uplifting, sometimes dark and
filthy, but always downright stomping.
