Biography of Trent Roche

Orbital - The Girl With The Sun In Her Head.

It was with that one song that my life was forever changed. The year was 1998, and a friend from the UK had just sent me a copy of the track. I'd never heard anything like it before, growing up in the middle of rural Ohio. I instantly jumped into the music, attempting to experience whatever genres I could and learn more about this hidden world.

In 2000, I took the plunge and purchased my own turntables, and then proceeded to use them far and few between due to being loaded down with university work. In the summer of 2002, I graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and thanks to the worthless job market for computer science majors at the time, was able to put in a large amount of practice on my turntables.

Since that time, I've become a resident dj of Chloe Harris's B-Sides on Proton Radio, and been a guest dj on Proton Radio shows such as Mindfunk and the late Warm Art. During the Winter Music Conference of 2004, I was even given the honor of dj'ing at the Proton Radio party at Privilege Club in south beach.

I currently live in Washington DC, and work as a government drone for the United States Patent & Trademark Office. As much as I would like to call dj'ing a full-time job, it clearly is not.

I hope you enjoy my mix. My intention with this, and all of my mixes, is not to bring down the roof, but rather create a sound that can be enjoyed loud, when you want to prep for a night out, or enjoyed in a relaxing and mellow manner after a long night out on the town.
