Biography of DJ Wildchild with Mc Eksman
Aka Emma Weaver, DJ Wild Child has been at the cutting edge of the drum & bass scene since 1994 when she was spotted by the legendary pirate radio station Kool FM to become their first resident female DJ. She had a weekly show for 4 years and played at many of the Kool FM and Jungle Fever parties.
At the height of the Jungle era DJ Wild Child was in demand at top events such as... Desire, Thunder & Joy, One Nation, Exposure and Telepathy, capturing 1,000’s of people’s imagination with her original long mixing style. Currently her favourite regular bookings on the Drum & Bass scene include Movement @ Bar Rumba (London), Fabric (London), The End (London), United Dance (London), Coco Shabeen (Bournemouth), Trouble On Vinyl (London) and Traffic (London). She has also featured on MTV where she was filmed playing at the legendary Notting Hill Carnival.
Wild Child’s DJing has flown her all over the World to the States, Canada, Israel, Switzerland, France, Scotland, Japan, Macedonia, Austria, Germany, Australia plus many more.
As one of Drum & Bass’ most promising talents, She was offered a 4 CD deal with Millennium records in 1996. The first two compilations “The London Update of Drum and Bass” and “Jungle Talk” (feat. MC Skibadee) were highly successful in England and abroad. This led to the third CD “Fulla Danger” featuring the U.K’s female MC, Chick-a-boo. Her 4th and most recent CD, “Exposed”, was released in July 2000. This also features the vocal talents of female legend MC Chick-a-boo.
Wildchild has worked at a number of top record companies including SRD where she was label manager for some of the biggest drum & bass labels.
Continually striving to improve her skills & knowledge of the music business,
Wild Child has recently gained an HND in Music Technology.
Wildchild is now concentrating on her own label WILDSTYLE RECORDINGS and spending time in the studio,aswell as dj-ing around the world!
Her talents go from strength to strength as she gets closer and closer to her goal of being a top producer and entering the history books as the DJ who could make the crowd go crazy!
