Biography of Joshua Collins
Joshua Collins has been producing since 1997, spanning nearly every genre of electronic music. With more than 180 releases to date, his presence within the house music scene has reached every corner of the globe - not only gaining notoriety within the highest of DJ circles but also claiming his own stake in the ever-increasing number of producers and DJ's these days. An extensive musical background and years of training in piano, cello and music theory have given Josh a strong platform to excel as a producer, remix artist and DJ. His interest in electronic music was sparked circa 1989 by Bad Boy Bill and Julian Perez of the famous Hot Mix 5. His current musical inspiration comes from artists such as Sven Vath, M83, Laurent Garnier, Frankmusik, and Robert Babicz. Over the years Josh has released singles and remixes on labels such as Hooj Choons, Urbantorque, Univeral (Japan), Nite Grooves, NRK, Grayhound, Gourmet and his own label frik:n:frak recordings. As his tastes and interest in music continue to expand and grow, we can anticipate great things from this veteran producer for years to come.
