Biography of Scuba

Scuba, aka Paul Rose is the founder of the London based Hotflush Recordings. Since its inception, the label has represented artists at the forefront of dubstep. Hotflush has been a driving force in pushing forward the musical boundaries of dubstep and has helped shape the scene that has gained so much popularity over the last two years. The sound continues to grow, with Hotflush and Scuba always at the cutting edge.

In its initial years Hotflush nurtured some of dubstep’s emerging stars such as Distance, Slaughter Mob, Toasty, and Boxcutter. It has continued with a consistent onslaught of innovative 12” releases via the Hotflush label and its sister, Scuba, always bringing fresh sounds and styles to the scene. Dubstep’s emergence as an international movement is reflected by the diversity of artists released on Hotflush and Scuba, with Vaccine (USA), Scuba (London), Boxcutter (Belfast), and Jazzsteppa (Germany) on the roster. The sound continues to grow, with Hotflush and Scuba always at the cutting edge.
