Biography of DJ Marnix
His love for music truly began back in 1985, when eleven year old Marnix got inspired by disco and decided to start his own drive-in show. The eighties was the era of electronic music first starting to evolve, assimilated with the disco from the seventies. By experimenting different kinds of electronic music, he started to create his own sound. Marnix has always tried to mix different dance styles, resulting in a lot of bookings at different parties. This gives Marnix the ability to gauge to each kind of atmosphere and making him a full package dj. Since the beginning of his career he has always been the crowd pleaser, making him a much-invited guest at different venues.
The crowd has always been number one in his philosophy. This has also been the main train of thought at Loveland. The different unique locations and the extraordinary way of treating each visitor as a VIP at the Loveland parties makes each event a memorable experience. In the past years Loveland became an establishment in Amsterdam, growing into one of the most respected dance organisations in the Dutch dance scene. After accomplishing his part of successes, Marnix gained his own milestone at 2005. T-Dansant celebrated it's fifth anniversary and Loveland reached it's tenth year of existence. But it was also the year that Marnix fulfilled his dream: establishing his own label, Loveland Recordings.
Marnix embodies what Loveland has become. In the past couple of years the events, such as Rise, Loveland Loves & Rise for your Queen became memorable successes. After 2005 new events such as Fire! & Royal Fire! & Loveland Festival came into being, innovating Loveland as a company and Marnix as a dj. His popularity hasn't run out any yet as he still is one of Holland's most booked dj's in the weekend. Besides spinning the wheels in different venues, he started to make his own productions in the Loveland studio, all coming out on his own label.
