It all started in '94 when he discovered that he could entertain his class mates by playing the music he loved. His music career from that moment started to go in the right direction. In 96' as he was 16 years old, he started his own radio show, on Radio 21 in his home town, Miercurea Ciuc. Optick also established a residency in the biggest club in the region. In 2000 after finishing the army service, he moved to Bucharest where he got the job he always dreamed of, working in the main Radio 21 station.
Coming to Bucharest resulted in the discovery of his true passion, playing house music. Soon he developed the idea of promoting house music on a radio show, called Obsession. The show became very popular across the country in a short period of time. Radio 21 gave him the opportunity to meet lots of foreign DJs. Eventually he invited them to play for his show. Artists like Paco Osuna, Lee Buridge, Corvin Dalek, Tommy Serano and Azzido Da Bass have all appeared as guests during his airtime.
Doing warm ups for big names that played in Romania was a result of his hard work and dedication. He had the pleasure of playing with Tommy Serano and Azzido da Bass, Lee Buridge in Colours Club in 2001, Misja Helsloot [Nl] and Marc Van Dale [Nl] on 2 big events Amsterdam Zone Party in 2002, James Zabiela and Jan Carbon in La Mania Club in 2002, Satoshi Tomiie in 2002, John Creamer and Lee Buridge in 2003 Hysteria Party, warm-up for Omid 16B La Motor Club in Mamaia in 2004, and many more.
Since 2000 he performed in the most prestigious clubs in Romania getting a very good feedback from the crowds. In 2004 after the Nights.ro Awards he was voted as one of the top 5 DJs in Romania. In 2001 he started his residency at the biggest outdoor house event in Romania – Liberty Parade [www.libertyparade.com] playing each year in front of 20.000 people The guest in 2003 was the US Chris Fortier and in 2004 Marco Bailey.
Since last year he started hosting the radio show Nextlevel [www.nextlevel.ro], where he once again promoted for his love of house house music. He hosted many international DJs and also local Romanian up and coming artists.
Since last year Optick approached music production starting with some remixes for Romanian artists Miki, Gica Petrescu, Activ and Voltaj. Due to the success of the 2 remixes he did with the help of his friend Avi, for the Romanian band Voltaj – Eu cu mine, the Roton label decided to put them on the album CD and Vinyl. Nowadays, he spends a lot of time producing original material, hoping to succeed in launching his first single and album this summer. That does not come in the way of his very busy DJ traveling all over Romania on gigs every weekend.
