Biography of Davide Squillace

The fermenting partenopean culture, particularly marked Davide's personality and in 1995 the techno scene met the passion for his sound innovation. When he was 18 to broad his knowledge acquired in Napless underground he moved to London, the social-cultural capital city of the electronic-music. Here he start to produce his first work with a few machines, they were studies on instruments functionalities and their range of use, and his first work was published by PRIMATE and soon AUDIO and CONTRAST published some Ep. In 1999 Davide went back to Naples and he started to play now and than. For two years he stopped to produce to study sound engineering. His high-quality technical knowledge allowed his talent to fully express itself and to bring out unques- tionable quality works. DESIGN MUSIC first, then CONFORM, pro- duced some of them, earning excellent judgments in international reviews. Davide was not able to put up with the filters that the labels placed on his sonorities, though. He therefore decided to set up in the SKETCH project, to be finally free to re-create his tastes. Three yars after he started his second label, MINISKETCH, for the more minimalist productions. Davide Squillace is also known as erikOtanabE, an alterego born under the necessity of assembling different kind of beats,being more free on the choise of sounds&samples.his tracks are a mix of minimaltekandglitch house, resulting in something enjoyable in a club as much as in your house while cooking some pasta...After some releases for MORRIS AUDIO, MORRIS CITY SPORT, IRMA and other labels; he decided to start a more houzy and glitchy label with some friends: the TITBIT.
