Biography of DJ Insight

Ollie Evans aka DJ Insight has always had an ear for music, he's been going to festivals since he was just 5yrs old. 'I grew up with music around me, my parents used to take me to loads of different festivals, it was great! As I got older I started to wander round Glastonbury Festival with my friends, we would hang out together & listen to the different sounds of the festival. I can remember arriving at Glastonbury in 1995 to see the dance tent for the first time, I was 14 yrs old & too young to go to night clubs, I had never seen anything like it!' This gave Insight the inspiration to get into DJing. 4yrs later Insight bought his first set of turntables & within a year he was already a regular DJ at clubs & bars in the local area. Not too much longer after that he was playing backstage at Glastonbury Festival & they enjoyed his DJ sets so much they asked him back the following year. Insight has now played in the backstage bar for the past 4yrs. He has gone on to warm up for ‘Full Cycle’ at Ashton Court Festival in Bristol & in 2002 he finished 3rd place at Drive By's DJ competition in Bath. 2005 saw Insight win the www.liquidfunk.co.uk online DJ competition & warm up for Mampi Swift & IC3 @ Rebirth. It's been a flying start to 2006 with DJ sets @ Knowledge Magazines 'Bar Knowledge' night @ ‘Café 1001’ in Shoreditch, London, a warm up set for Andy C & Eksman for the 'Nightlife 3' launch party in Plymouth, a DJ set at 'Dubplate Killaz 2' for ‘Infidelity’ @ ‘Level’ in Bristol & not forgetting regular appearances @ Bedlam's Valve nights @ both The ‘Brunel Rooms’ in Swindon & ‘The Carling Academy’, Bristol. Insight is now a resident for 'Rinseout' in Exeter, you can catch him on rotation alongside some of the big names in the game. He has recently returned to the UK after playing his international debut @ ‘Batofar’ for 'Flavor Of The Month' in Paris & he has just been given a DJ residency for 'Hospital Records' night 'Hospitality' @ the all new ‘Thekla Social’ in Bristol.
