I LOVE music, simple as that. Been into electronic-DJ music since 1992 when I met a local DJ who introduced me to Acid House and early rave Breakbeats. We became close friends and we went to all the clubs, raves, and underground dance parties we could get ourselves too. If we couldn't find any, then we made our own - DIY. I miss those days. the DC and Baltimore raves, the Loft in Boston, KC's parties, the Primary parties, Caffiene, The End-Up, the Sound Factory, Body and Soul, Shelter, or somebody's garage or basement.
Old school electro funk, classic rock, blues, new wave, and metal were what I was into before settling into House music. I played that for a long time, but I no longer stick to that (or any) particular style. So, depending on whats going on I just play what I feel like playing. Which can range from house and techno to hip-hop, rock, funk, or pop. My style is mature, unique, and sexy woven together with that all important groove. What started out as a hobby has taken on a life of it's own that's a lot of fun!
I've been spinning professionally for almost 8 years now holding down numerous residencies in my hometown of Portland Maine. Most notable being a 4-year stint at Una Wine Bar, and the infamous summer of 2006 at The Lava Lounge. I have been the 'Maine' DJ for all Redbull sponsored events since 2001. In 2003 I was voted 'Portland's Best Club DJ' by the Casco Bay reader's poll. In 2004 was selected as one of 'Portland's Most INfluential Women' by the Portland Pheonix. I've also been interviewed for Portland Magazine, Metro Magazine, The Pheonix, and Casco Bay Weekly.
But what's been the most fun of all has been travelling and sharing to San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Nashville, Burlington VT, Louisville KY, Boston, Brighton UK, and the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sardinia; making friends along the way and just having a blast!
