Guy Gerber, 29, used to play soccer for Maccabi Tel-Aviv and even got to play at the young national team, but at the age of 16 his father made a huge mistake and bought him an electric guitar. His passion for music started to grow while listening to bands like the 'Pixies' and 'My Bloody Valentine'. After getting his first distortion pedal he decided to leave the team and he formed the 'Fuzzy Buggers' - a surf punk trio. All was good till he got sick of drummers and decided to take charge of the beat. Using a sampler and his live playing skills, he always managed to mix together the raw power of rock energy, along with the tender touch of the technology.
His passion for old disco records and vintage analog toys led for his first electronic project Captain Coconut, the first Israeli dirty disco sound. But as always Guy wanted to explore new sounds and production approaches. On his first release, 'Pasolator 5000 - The Last Gun Star', he created a completely different soundscape, much deeper and far more darker. Shortly afterwards, in 2000, Guy met up with Dani Makov, one of Israel's leading drummers, and the two established Cocobit, a live act that swept the holy land.
Meanwhile, Guy started studio collaboration with Sahar Z, the Oman 17 Club's resident DJ, and together they attacked several projects. Among them was the famous 'Kenny's Back', which was signed by Whoop! records and was featured on several compilations including Dave Seaman's GU22 and the sound of Renaissance. It was also chosen for the soundtrack of 'All the good years' (A Michael Douglas production). The whoop! release was followed by 'Flamer/Soon' the first release of Kinky Vinyl, under the name A.D.D (Guy's alter ego name representing his attention disorder state of mind), which gained support from many famous dj's. Guys other releases and remixes have been released on legendary labels such as Twisted America, Alternative Route and SAW records.
Guy is currently working on his first solo album which will see light on Twisted America Records in the very near future and performing live throughout Israel's best clubs. He just returned from a European tour where he performed in clubs and festivals in countries such as Finland, Estonia, Russia, Croatia and many others. Guy also won the the best Israeli electronic artist prize for 2003 by the Israel Music Association as well as being chosen as best producer by Israel's leading dance music magazine. He is also working on the music for Ohad Naharins (one of the world’s most respected choreographers) new art & dance show.
Guy Gerber is well-known and respected for his highly emotional and constantly evolving writing & production style. His sound outstandingly grabs every listener's attention and takes you to a journey where his originally spiced grooves dominate and create an atmosphere of nostalgia with hypnotic view into the future. When you listening to Guy's music you immediately step into a different dimension where he constantly changes the rules and the views, blends new with the old and builds anticipation behind every corner.
