Biography of Kellimus

Born On June 23rd in the year 1987 into a family of five, Kellimus (Kelly Christensen) was the youngest of three children. Hailing from Preston Idaho, Kellimus got a taste of Electronic Dance Music at the age of 12 when he heard a mix cd his brother had gotten by DJ Beaker which had a remixed version of The Imperial March, which made Kelly outragious! Never had he heard such a strange and twisted version of The Imperial March before, even with being a huge Star Wars fanatic. Old School Hard House and Trance was all that was on this mix.

He was in love.

Soon after, he was introduced to Rebirth through someone online through the Blizzard best selling RTS of the year, Starcraft, and soon began creating his own loops. His knowledge of Rebirth was thin, but he persisted in remixing the songs that came with the program.

He soon fell in love with this unique sound they call Acid.

After a year or two of bragging about Acid music, Rebirth, and his remixes on Starcraft, he soon was enlightened. He was told about another style of Trance music that was Acid influenced and better than just regular Acid/Hard Acid.

Goa Trance.

He soon searched for some Goa artists and found one of his most favorite artists: Hallucinogen. After getting LSD by Hallucinogen, he was amazed! Never had he heard such medolic sounding Trance. Never had he heard something so full on, and in your face at the same time. And never had he heard any style of Electronic Dance Music that is Psychedelic like Pink Floyd is for Rock.

He knew that this music was where it was at. That this music, had touched him deep within and unlocked feelings he'd never felt before ever in his life.

He had to get more.

Then at the age of 16, he was introduced to the new style of Goa Trance... Psy-Trance. Psy-Trance in his book, is pretty damn slick. Not as slick as Goa Trance in his opinion, but he loves his Psy-Trance. Artists like Alien Project, Kindzadza, Para Halu, Wizard Lizard, Uzi, The Wizard, 1200 Mics, 1200 Micrograms, Infected Mushroom, Penta, and much more, are the genres of Psy-Trance that Kelly enjoys.

Goa and Psy-Trance ARE NOT the same genre to him.

Then he was introduced to Fruity Loops around the latter half of his 16th year on this world. Producing simple songs was what he did best...Until he moved to Phoenix, Arizona for school in 2005 where he met his friend and mentor David Rosado (Output, Dirty Dave) on a chat agent named PalTalk.

He soon was taught the basics of the full-on bassline by Output, and began his journey into the world of Psychedelic Trance. After about two years of producing Psychedelic Trance (mainly Psy-Trance) it finally clicked within him, and he started producing Goa Trance.

Kellimus tries to capture the old medolic sounds and feelings of Goa Trance within his songs while also trying to capture the intense and psychoactive sensations Psy-Trance creates in its compositions.

He makes most his current productions in the Fruity Loops DAW, but has dabbled in Reason and Cubase.

Currently focusing on promoting himself, his music, and Psychedelic Trance within the Arizona Rave Scene, he plans to help change the Arizona Scene with his love for producton, music, and Electronic Dance Music.
