Goodie
Ekkohaus was born in Greece. He took piano lessons and later won a scholarship in an orchestra percussion course. He studied vibraphone and marimba but after 3 years of classical education he decided he had enough. He bought his first Roland drum machine and a cheap synthesizer and soon was transferring midi data between the 2 devices. Since then he has been introduced to computer music and nowadays he combines software and hardware equipment for his live performances.
During the nineties, Ekkohaus was playing vibraphone chords on top of smoky downtempo beats while triggering weird samples from an old tape recorder. Some people said it was trip-hop. That was about to change when his naughty friends introduced him to rave parties, faster upbeat music and lovely smiley people. Several years have now passed. Ekkohaus now has lived in London where he got his B.A. in Music technology. His beats became more minimal with deep baselines and quirky, spaced-out samples. The next natural destination was Berlin where he can now be seen wandering with his bike, spinning records, eating a kebab etc etc ...
The last few years Ekkohaus has been releasing music in various lebels (Safari electronique, Multi vitamins, Kick boxer, Morris audio, Serialism, Igloo, Flumo, After dinner...) and has performed in London (The key, the Egg, Aquarium, Catch 22, The pool, cafe 1001, club 54...) Barcelona (Raum, Nave, Mochima, Makarena...) Berlin (Watergate, Pulp mansion, Im frachtau, Spielraum, Storage Berlin....) but also in Florence, Bolognia, Munich, Kassel, Birmingham and a handfull of venues in Athens, Greece. Although ekkohaus is not a religious person, he is said to be member of a secret cult that claims to be in search of the magic loop, an ecstatic situation created by the monotonus repetition of a specific frequency or rhythmic sequence, whisper , rain etc etc...
