Biography of Benny Benassi
Benny Benassi was born in Milan on 13 July 1967 under the sign of Cancer. He is 35 but claims to look 25. He lives in Reggio Emilia, a fine Italian town about 100km south of Milan, where the food is great and the Dance music is even better. He works as a producer in collaboration with his cousin Alle Benassi, who has been a musician and arranger at Off Limits , the internationally successful production unit run by Larry Pignagnoli.
After producing KMC feat Dhany (N° 1 club charts UK) last year, the Benassi cousins started work on the BENNY BENASSI presents THE BIZ project, a ground-breaking mixtured of electro, techno and house dosed with minimalist flair.
The first single SATISFACTION has made its presence felt in the main charts all over Europe. Here are some of the results:
- over a month in the n° 1 spot in the Official Dance Chart in FRANCE
- top twenty Official Singles Sales Chart in FRANCE
- n° 2 in the Official Dance Chart in GERMANY
- top forty Official Singles Sales Chart in GERMANY
The album HYPNOTICA is still in the top 20 in the Official Album Sales Chart in FRANCE after over a month, having reached the TOP 5. The single SATISFACTION is currently back n° 1 spot in the Official Dance Chart in FRANCE again!!!!
The single SATISFACTION just released on DATA/ MINISTRY OF SOUND in UK , straight in at n° 2 UK Singles Sales Chart.

Official European Dance Chart: SATISFACTION and ABLE TO LOVE both went top 5 in the Official European Dance Chart
Benny Benassi's crucial remixes include Tomcraft's 'Loneliness' and the latest Sonique track. Also look out for the Benny Benassi remix of the new Electric Six single, Dance Commander, and the new Outkast single, Ghetto Musik.
In May a startling new remix of a major artist will be released but we’re not allowed to tell you who it is.
Benny has also remixed a track by an unsigned artist CHANNING. The track is called “Who’s knockin'?” and there a few white labels going around, causing quite a stir in clubland.
Benny is working on a remix of a forthcoming single by the internationally renowned dj, Robbie Rivera, which will raies a few eyebrows this summer.
Benny and Alle have recently produced Benassi Bros, a project designed to shine the spotlight on the two Biz vocalists, Paul French and Violeta.. and the product features on the playlists of various French Dj's.
Benassi Bros. feat. Sandy 'ILLUSION' went to number one in the French club charts and Top 20 in the sales charts.
Look out for the forthcoming Benassi Bros. album PUMPHONIA and the new single “HIT MY HEART” by Benassi Bros. feat. Dhany.
In Germany ABLE TO LOVE went straight into the Official Dance Chart at number 2! Top 20 in the sales charts in France. Benny’s tracks are dominating club charts from Canada to Australia.
The new single NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO has just been released together with a stylish video featuring THE BIZ.
Benny is currently on tour all over the world, with his inimitable dj sets. He has bi-monthly residencies at the Gallery @ Turnmills in London, the Queen in Paris and Platinum in Geneva. In April in May he will tour extensively to launch the new compilation due for release by Subliminal Records, “Subliminal Sessions 6”. This is the first time an Italian dj has been invited to mix their legendary compilation and is a real honour for Benny.
The compilation contains hitherto unreleased tracks by the likes of Dave Clarke, Hector Romero and Robbie Rivera and the first release by Bat67.
In 2003, Benny won a lot recognition
- number one in the Top 100 dance tracks on the Ministry of Sound Internet radio
- DJ MAG tune of the year in UK
- Revelation of the year - Italian Dance Music Awards
- Dance revelation of the year - Danish Music Award
- Nominated for international revelation of the year - NRJ Awards, France
- Three nominations at Dancestar, Miami (to be held in March, 2004)
His dj style is easy to describe... it's kinda electro, sort of house-tec, dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth.
