In the end of 2005 the Germany based electrohouse imprint Systematic presented its fourteenth release called Marc Romboy vs. Stephan Bodzin containing two enigmatic and timeless tracks carving the thin line between minimal electro house and neo techno in the vain of Matthew Jonson and John Tejada.
But that was definately not the first time you heard of the fabulous Mr. Bodzin from Northern Germany 'cause he has benn producing tracks from profiled artists like Thomas Schumacher, Elekrochemie and H-Man, just to name a view.
Marc Romboy, man behind Systematic says: 'Stephan is one of the most innovative and enthusiastic producers of electronic music I have ever met in my life. His talent to edit and create unique sounds and kickin' minimal grooves is incredible.'
The mid-thirty fellow has just released his very first solo single called 'Caligula' on Systematic Recordings and is currently pretty busy with preparing his DJ-Mix live show which is, from Stephan's point of view, the next step into future DJ performance.
There's no doubt at all, 2006 will be the year of Stephan Bodzin!

Not many electronic music producers manage to release award-winning albums, sell shedloads of 12′’s and perform the world over before they hit the big 3-0. Brussels-based French-Spaniard Rodriguez Junior - aka Olivier M - has done exactly that. As a half of French electro act The Youngsters he’s already packed more into his time in the industry than some do over their whole career - and he’s still just 29.
Over the past six years he and his partner in crime have released loads of EPs and remixed tracks of dozens artists.
Their two studios albums - like their singles, released on Laurent Garnier’s label F-Com - won a string of awards and accolades from some of dance music’s biggest names. This success catapaulted them onto the international circuit, giving them the platform to take their electrifying live act to some of the biggest club stages and festivals in Europe, South America and Asia, performing with artists such as The Chemical Brothers and Massive Attack.
Now living and working in the Belgian capital Brussels, Olivier’s Rodriguez project is the product of an almost schizophrenic brand of creativity, and a thirst for the new and unexpected.
Going solo offers something valuable to him: the freedom to experiment, step off the release / gig / release merry-go-round, and break out of the musical “mind-ghetto” that so many great acts end up slipping into.
The Rodriguez alter-ego represents his own productive journey of re-discovery and is getting more and more successful, with releases already lined up on labels like Leena, Giant Wheel and Boxer.
Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Stockhausen, LFO, Carl Craig, Eric Satie, Kraftwerk or Michel Polnareff, Oliviers’ spirit of adventure translates into music that can’t easily be pigeon-holed.
While his music is all electronic, and put together largely in his own MLab Mk5 studio in Brussels, his music can be leftfield and experimental or rich, melodic and poppy - depending on his mood. Musical freedom is Oliviers motto… we at the Berlin Kreuzberg Institut are looking forward to hear this motto translate into new tracks - coming soon from Oliviers’ studio in Brussels.
