Much like techno itself, Kiddo's dynamic style is always evolving. In the four short years that she's been moving bodies on the dance floor she's already caught people's attention in the Chicago community and beyond.
Kiddo has shown her mettle in all types of environments. Whether it's an outdoor festival, a cave in Carbondale, radio programs, TV spots, loft parties, galleries, lounges, restaurants, or one of Chicago's many fine dancing establishments, she has a knack for tailoring her DJ sets to every type of occasion.
Kiddo has had the opportunity to play with a number of veteran and up-and-coming producers and DJs. She has proudly shared a DJ booth with international talent such as Titonton Duvanté, Ryan Elliott, Punisher, Ryan Crosson, Ben Parris, Someone Else, Jason Emsley, Kill Memory Crash, Frankie Vega, Gabriel Palomo, Alexi Delano, Joel Mull, Cari Lekebusch, Tony Rohr, Camea, and Paco Osuna, all of whom exposed her to new sounds and helped her continue to develop as a DJ.
Influenced by the sounds of Berlin, Detroit, and Chicago, Kiddo's style is a melding of numerous genres of techno and house music. Her sets may range anywhere from glitchy, shuffling micro-house to sexy, melodic tech-house to more dark and sinister techno. Lately she's been moving the dance floors with seamless mixes of up-tempo tech-house and minimal techno with the occasional jackin' cut thrown in for good measure. She is known for her enthusiasm behind the turntables, connecting with the dancefloor through the combination of a charismatic smile and energetic mixing.
As a vocalist trained in classical and jazz performance, Kiddo also currently sings with several Chicago choral groups when she's not behind the turntables or dancing her heart out at late-night gatherings in support of her city's vibrant techno scene.
In 2006, Kiddo held a monthly residency at one of Chicago's favorite underground night spots, Smartbar, where she produced showcases to introduce internationally respected techno artists to the city's dance music devotees. She was also featured on Proton Radio, airing a mix on the long-standing program “Red Line Sessions,” hosted by Siteholder Records artist Brian Ffar. Kiddo also made her Miami debut at the 2006 WMC, where she performed alongside Adam Beyer and Joel Mull, among others. She is looking forward to collaborating with other DJs and producers on several forthcoming musical events and production projects in the near future.
