Biography of DJ Whizz
Dj Whizz – Lionel Dumoulin in real life – was born in 1981. He first discovered electronic music at the end of the ‘80s through tracks like “FPU – Crockett’s Theme” and “Giorgio Moroder – The Chase” In his early teenage years he listened to several types of electronic music and began to develop a particular interest in techno. In 1999 he took a big step and bought his own mixing equipment. It wasn’t long before he was playing at small locally organised nights and soon enough he got his first bookings on the same bill as international dj’s. Now he regularly plays well known clubs, such as Soundstation 2004 was a turning point for Dj Whizz – he started organising parties and together with several friends founded “E-sounds”, an association to promote electronic music. The collective contributed to setting up the “Liège Is Alive” parties, which twice a year bring together about a dozen famous organizers from Liège and provide a showcase for the best techno DJs in the world. He has also set up his own home studio to compose his own tracks. In 2007 he released his first piece on the label Kroma Recordings. To be continued…
