Biography of Pablo Martinez

The Beginning:

A new rising talent out of the United Kingdom, DJ and Producer Pablo Martinez is a fast up and coming individual from the 'nu school' generation of dance music artists haling from London. Raised with a Hispanic background and living in London he was subject to many different styles of music whilst growing up. He was first introduced to Dance music by next door neighbour and life long friend DJ Samuel Parra. A few attempts at mixing round his friends house along with some schooling on dance music and its scene and he was instantly hooked. Mixing & buying records with his paper round money from the age of 12, Pablo started playing his first gigs aged 14 where he would play at local social club events put on by his older friends.
In his teen youth, he became more and more fine tuned into soulful dance music and had turned Dj'ng into a serious hobby. Hero's for him came in the shape of Blaze, Tony Humphries, Paul Trouble Anderson, Masters at Work and Todd Terry amongst others. Not long after finding his niche in dance music Pablo would always be found spinning in a range of local venues alongside promoting his own events during his teen years

DJ:

In 2000 Pablo formed the Samba La Casa Dj/production brand with long time friend Chris aka Chris Samba. The pair took the brand name to the masses DJ'ing at a countless number of clubs and becoming a regular name within the London club scene. In the few years to follow he played alongside some of the biggest names in the industry at a massive array of different international venues including: Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Turnmills, The Cross, Pacha, HQ (Birmingham), Q Club (Bangkok), Mint Bar (Koh Samui) and Sala (Madrid) the list could go on and on. Pablo has also been (and is still is) called upon to guest for a number of promoters & specialist nights including: Soul Heaven, City Loud, Renaissance, Indulge, Flick, Moneypennies, Soul Vision, Lamerica & Garage City all as well as co hosting a number of his own nights in the UK. In late 2004 Pablo was also nominated for the Breakthrough DJ Award at the 1st Global House Music Awards which took place in London.
More recently alongside his infamous 4 year London residency Body Music, Pablo is now regularly found headlining clubs on an international level playing in cities such as Miami, Las Vegas, LA, Rome, Milan, Venice, Sorrento, Galicia, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Dubai, NYC, Tokyo, Bangkok.. Production:
For Pablo, it was only a matter of time before he took a natural progression from DJing to music production. Some of his first productions under the Samba La Casa fame included Friday Marshmallow which reached the top 10 in the USA Billboard charts released through Vinyl Soul records, a remix of Donell Jones 'You know that I love you' which went to Number 41 in the UK Charts and the club mixes for Lorna 'Papi Chulo' which was a huge summer anthem in southern Europe released through Ministry Of Sound. Past Samba La Casa projects have also included work with artists such as, Mary J Blige, Errol Lewis Greene, Jocelyn Brown & Roland Clarke to name a few. Pablo was also voted in IDJ Magazines TOP 50 Producers in 2004.
More recently, after the timely task of building his own studio at home and the move of his Samba La Casa compadre to Thailand, Pablo began to focus on his solo career. From here on he continued to progress within music production, remixing artists such as Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, Dwelle, Angie Stone, Amerie, Divinity,Floetry and Afro Medusa to name a few from a very long list. Producing for labels such as West End, Shelter, Fall Out, Certified Organik, Peng, & Deepless records again to name a few from a long list. Past projects have also included work with other producers like Todd Gardner, Benji Candelario, M&S, Martino & Tyrone (83West), Ian Friday & Jason B. Pablo's producing skills have also been called upon to produce music for tv & radio advertising campaigns for companies such as MTV, Smirnoff. The Fashion Channel & Zara (ES).
Currently Pablo is now working with a number of labels including Shelter, Soul Heaven, Hustle, Fall Out, Tea Party, Home, Peng, Orsis, Certified Organik, West End Records. RMA and Deepless alongside focusing on creating a debut album set to be released at the end of 2007. To sum up there is a hellova lot of music coming your way from this guy :)

Most certainly not a stranger to radio Pablo has performed guest mixes and interviews on a huge list of stations in the UK and overseas including Kiss Fm, Radio1(Spain & UK), BBC 1Xtra, Capital 95.8, Choice FM & Ministry of Sound radio.
