Biography of Todd Perrine
Todd was born in Rochester,NY in 1970--at age 11 at a friends he got a taste of his first electronic sounding record which was 'Kraftwerks-Man Machine' album. This spawned a new love for this unique sounding music. 4yrs later Todd met 3 people who took him to experience my first club. The club was the 'Nectarine Ballroom-Ann Arbor,MI---this is the moment Todd was in awe of the dj and the groundbreaking music coming out of the U.K. Later this night they went over to a friends house who had 2 direct drive turntables and a radioshack mixer--this night is where Todd Perrine began his DJ career (1985). 2yrs later a club opened up in town(Toledo,OH) under the name of 'Frankies'in 1987 where he met Derrick Thompson(Soiree Records International) and Boomer 'Omegaman' Reynolds(+8/Definitive/Out of the Box)---together they brought the House and Techno sound to the people of Toledo. Todd held a residency here for 10+ yrs--during this time he also held residency at The Velvet Room/The Amsterdam Lounge-Windsor,Ont: Nucleus/128/BPM-Toledo,OH.
In 1998 I teamed up with my music partner Laura Hardgrove under the name of 'PHConcept' and we signed to Soiree Records releasing tracks on 2 CD comps and then 2 12' records--first the Balanced EP then Groove Vital EP. We recieved great response from URB,Groove,+Mixmag for write-ups and playists overseas. I am currently working on my 7th CD in a series called 'Landcruisin'' featuring nothing but good down home House Music. I have played across the United States and in countries such as France,Germany,and Canada bringing my sweet soulful sounds to the masses. I have opened up for or played alongside such djs as: Richie Hawtin,Roger Sanchez,Luke Slater,Chris Fortier,Mike 'Agent X' Clark,Aux 88,DJ Funk,Nigel Richards,Frankie Bones,Jesse Saunders,Robert Armani,Joey Beltram,Skylab 2000,The Advent,Halo,Terrance Parker,DJ DIZ,Rolando,Kenny Glasgow,Paul Johnson,Stacy Kidd,Minx,Phantom 45,Danny the Wildchild, and etc...(too many to list). I have showcased at the 2001 & 2007 Winter Music Conference--The Detroit Electronic Music Festival(Movement) 2003,2005, + 2007 and played at world reknowned clubs such as: Soma,Col--The Motor Lounge,Detroit--The Necto,Ann Arbor--The Rex,Paris. I belong to dj collectives such as Bang Tech 12,Detroit--Solid House Inc.,Detroit--and the Glass City Collective,Toledo. My tag team dj affiliations are with Mike Biggs as the 'CAVITY CREEPS' and with Jason Bolles-aka Matthew Legend as the 'RENEGADES of FUNK'. I have taken the last 6yrs off to gain more focus on my life and to raise my handsome son who is now my driving force to succeed.
