Biography of Deflipo
Nick DiFilippo, also known as 'deflipo', is a veteran dj/promoter of the Fort Wayne, Indiana EDM scene. He picked up dj'ing in 1996 at the age of 15 while serving as a guitarist in a basement industrial band. With a certain fondness for the dark and gritty sounds frequently heard in the industrial genre, he fell in love with the hardcore/hard techno sound that was rampant in the thriving 'rave' culture of the time. As the years have passed, his sound has matured a bit to a smoother, funkier blend of techno that has become a staple of local events. His influences include (but not limited to): Neil Landstrumm, British Murder Boys (surgeon & regis), emmanuel top, cari lekebusch, alexi delano, adam beyer, richie, dave angel, de la soul, quannum projects, prince, ect.
As creator of proper.productions, Nick has brought some legendary EDM and hip-hop shows to the city of Fort Wayne with guests including: Terry Mullan, Punisher, One Be Lo, Bryan Jones, Errol and Nearest Nova. Along with that, he has maintained (along with local favorites Sneaky and Adejai) the longest running EDM monthly in Fort Wayne's history featuring guests such as: Steve Stoll, Skoozbot, Kyle Geiger and Bryan Jones with new guests featured every month.
