Biography of The Chola

Location:
WINTER SPRINGS, Florida
United States

Styles/Genres:
Down-tempo / Electronica / Breakbeat

I have been an off and on musician for years and I have recently started Digital DJ’ing. Once upon a time I had dreams of being a profesional Electronic musician but, with time and age, that faded. I have moved away from the music business and am very happy with my career in Information Technology. I have recently started producing music and mixing again, but this time around, I am doing it for enjoyment, not profit.

Along with mixing sets on a regular basis, I am currently working on a down groove/ambient project which I will post on Myspace to be downloaded for free. I’d like to try something new with this project, and completely “OPEN SOURCE” it. In addition to offering the complete songs as free downloads, I would like to offer other musicians the invidual parts and loops for remix purposes.

Influences:
First and foremost, John Rodrigues, Scott Rodrigues, and Chris Helenthal. They lit that last creative ember I had left in me and in doing so, I have found that the creative spark is erupting in to a full blown fire.

Sasha, for completely blowing me away by moving away from vinyl and yet again, becoming an explorer on not only the forefront of music but, technology.

Cybo- whoa, in an instant she reminded me of what it was like to create with young, untainted passion.
Cosmic Baby- there will always be dolphins in my heart for you.

Billy-D- the originator of cool!

Shaggy- we walked on another planet and in some other time my friend.

Datapusher and Modulus- they are technical masters, I listen and learn... someday!

Comment: After losing my touch with the breaks scene, id thought id raise the phoenix from the ashes unfortunately chola had a water pistol and put the poor bird out...from the start chola start off with some jazzy beats i like my jazz but you got to be careful as it can quickly drown the rest of the music, in this case i felt it had. the contrast between breaks and jazz seemed to have gotten lost, i felt this should of appealed more to people holding van dogh paintings and melting clocks......sound quality was very good though come on chola im sure you got something more up your selves...
