Biography of DJ Rush

So what else can the big man do, he has open doors for many new artist and showed the world that Hard Energy can also be entertaining, (when in the right dj's hands). To some people, Rush is a star on stage, entertainer, mind blowing killing Machine, speaker beater, bass cranker, but deep down inside The Major is a NORMAL person just like the people who attends his event, thats why he sings and make songs that appeals to everyday life, Songs that people can sing to, dance to laugh along with, such as I love you, Mutha fucking bass, freaks on Hubbard, Get on up, Bass Control and many others. Many producers love to Hate the Big man, but what they need to understand Rush has open doors for their music to be heard all over the world and much respect should be giving.

Many artist and producer's grow up in this business in different ways. Some suffer from failure (because of searching fame, money, or being the top number 1 Entertainer), while Rush continue to grow, because of keeping a Straight mind, focusing on enjoying what makes him happy and just keeping it real and natural. If you happen to make money, while doing what you love, then make the money, but don't let it make you.. If you score fame from what you love, then keep it real and respect others, if you become on top (the number 1 entertainer) remember where you come from and how you got there. All this in mind what brought Rush to help other artist to reach their goal.To name a few Paul Langely, Pet Duo, Dj Bold, and many others who had produce on the Major's lable Kne' Deep rec. or work the decks along side him..

No holds bars, (that means 100% live, no pre- recorded act on a lap top, dat, ect...) he's on stage with a load of machines, a mic, disturbing outfit for your eyes, and a back drop full of beautiful dancers..From his birth place Chicago to, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Netherlands, Czech, Hungary, Japan, UK, and many more He has stomped his way into their world and once there, Nothing and I mean nothing is ever the same...

Biography of Chris Liebing

Chris Liebing had his first Residency as a DJ in a small club called 'Red Brick' 1991 in Giessen, near Frankfurt. There he was playing all sorts of music from Soul, Hip Hop and Pop to House. In 1993, buying his records at Downtown Records in Giessen, he discovered the more electronic side of music, and one year later, he decided to open up a Techno Club, called 'Spinclub'.

Already beginning of 1995 the club had to close down and Chris began working for Eye-Q Records in Frankfurt. During that period, he met his friend and partner Andre Walter. Together they started to built up a studio and worked on music. Later that year, the first record on Global Ambition was released. Also together with Tommy Bingel from Downtown Records and Toni Rios, they founded the house Label SOAP. Various records and remixes were released, like Traveller on Harthouse, Noosa Heads and E.H.R. on Soap, Strictly Ryth, and others.

In November 1995, Chris had a chance to play at the OMEN in Frankfurt and shortly after became Resident DJ. About a year later, influenced by his DJ-ing, he created 'fine Audio Recordings' together with Under Cover Music Group. Chris gained first worldwide recognition with releases like Audio 07 and Audio 11.

Between 1997 and 1999 he hosted his weekly radioshow on Evosonic Radio. Very much happened then in 1999, Chris played the first time for the U60311 and started his residency every first Friday of a month with 'Es ist Freitagaaabend!', playing along with his favourite DJ's and live acts from around the world.

He joined the Cocoon Agency in Frankfurt to take care of his growing booking schedule and also in that same year, he moved on with his label work and created his own record company 'CLR'. From then on the labels CLR, Clretry, CLAU, Stigmata and Soap were distributed by Prime in England.

Since August 2000 you can hear Chris and Pauli Steinbach in their 'Pitch Control' on HR XXL every Thursday night.

In may 2001 he mixed his first double CD Techno Divison Vol. 01 in cooperation with his residency Club U60311 and their label. The CD runs went well and were charted on #18 of the German dance chart directly. Also Chris started working to produce for his first album. But he still released production on his own labels in 2001/ 2002.

In 2002 he left Cocoon Booking to manage the booking schedule by himself. From now on CLR is taking care of his labels and bookings.

Chris Liebings Debutalbum EVOLUTION got released in June 2003 national and October 2003 worldwide. The reaction is immense and most magazines support the album and producer behind it. Next to releases in 2003 on his labels CLR, CL Retry, CLAU and Stigmata (for more information watch Chris Liebing's discography) Chris decided to built up his own Party row ES IST FREITAGAAABEND (means its friday night) in the U60311 in Frankfurt.

In August Chris played Nature One Festival in Germany and got voted to best DJ of the festival, second year in row.

After a successful year (2003) Chris decided to take off a complete month in January 2004; he wants have a few weeks off for vacation and studio work. In that take off Chris have had the idea to arrange a remix contest for all tracks he released on his debut album Evolution. Chris put all parts of the tracks on his site for download; and within a few days CLR received more than 2000 registrations of producers who wanted to do a remix. After three month CLR received more than 500 remixes; and on August 2004 Chris released the best four tracks on CLR evo.

In July 2003 Chris Liebing is nominated for the German dance award in the category best national DJ, also nominated were Paul van Dyk, Sven Väth & Westbam. Chris flew in to be part of the award show wich happened in Berlin; really happy about the nomination; - nothing aspected – and WON the award for best national DJ!

A few weeks later Chris and Pauli receives the information that the radio channel where they run their weekly radio show, that the radio channel was switching name and products; their radio show PITCH CONTROL should move from a Thursday night slot to Saturday night. Pauli and Chris decided not to go on, because both are mostly booked DJ wise, and the Pitch Control team decided that to record the show under the week and to broadcast it Saturday night instead of doing it live, would mean they'd lose loads of spontainous vibe. So in December 2004 the last Pitch Control went on the air before they both closed the radio show after three years.. The reaction were massive, but there were no chance to hold the Thursday night.

In the beginning of 2004 Chris Liebing was voted 'best remixer' by Raveline Magazine's yearly readers poll. In the categories best DJ and best Producer Chris runs number two.

In May 2004 Chris released his second double mix CD for his residency Club U60311 on their Label Techno Divisions; the Mix CD by Chris was Vol. 4. in this mix CD Chris goes on as he would in a DJ performance, with all technical equipment and effects he usually uses; Final Scratch; Ableton Live, Faderfox, Air FX, etc. Also the cover of the CD shows his laptop with Final Scratch running.

In March Chris received a request if he would be interested in hosting a weekly night from July to September together with Mauro Picotto on Ibiza at the Privilege Club. Chris and Mauro decided to do so; even with loads of critics in back; they did, and the Meganite combinazione were born. The night turned out as a success and the first season on Ibiza were made, both hosts will go on with Meganite Combinazione at Privilege in 2005 every Wednesday.

In October 2004 Chris release the STIGMATA CHAPTER ONE Mix CD, for wich he used all 44 tracks he has released on his Label Stigmata for the first Chapter ( 01 – 10) in cooperation with Ableton live. The mix CD is sold as “The complete Collection, -Chapter one . Chris Liebing and his partner Andre Walter will start in second half of 2005 latest with the Stigmata Damon Chapter, Chapter two.

Together with the incredible dutch producer Speedy J Chris produced a release on Speedy J's label COLLABS in which Speedy J releases always in cooperation with some other producer on the renommated Novamute label. Chris and Speedy J released Collabs 300 in November 2004. The results were good and Speedy J and Chris Liebing realized that they should continue to work together. So they started the collabs 300 series; in January 2005 they will release their next 12”. Collabs 301. Also a complete album is scheduled for November 2005 via Novemute.

In November 2004 the international recognized readers poll of the Top 100 DJs of the world from DJ Magazine happened. Chris Liebing climbed on at number 23! He climbed 65 steps; which has him as the highest climber of the Top 100 readers poll history of DJ Magazines.

In January 2005 Chris received the message that he is again nominated for two German Dance Award; Best DJ and best Techno Artist. The Award show will happen on March 11th 2005. Also in 2005 Chris Liebing will host a second month residency at Avalon in New York City. His night ES IST FREITAGAAABEND at the U 60311 will happen in 2005 again for sure, for the 6th year!

January Chris signed endorsement deals with Final Scratch 2 and Shure. Biography of Sven Vath

October 26, 1964: Sven is born in Obertshausen

The years before 1982
Adolescence transforms 'little Sven' into an entertainer, whose experiences, adventures and impressions dominate the next twelve years...

1982
The Dorian Gray club - from regular patron to discjockey! Here Sven's career begins with soul oldies and high-energy in the 'New Romantics'-period. Freaky costumes and self-acknowledged narcissism characterise SVEN in the midst of the new 'lifestyle' aesthetics of the Eighties.

1983
The 'other' club on the scene at this time, the Vogue. Sven plays diverse styles, beginning to move further and further away from the mainstream. Champagne flying through the air and reckless excesses - unusual in the pre-techno period - were an omen for the location's next chapter in history.

1984
Sven is now the permanent DJ at the Vogue on the weekends. His army of fans grows rapidly from week to week. Typical mainstream disco music can only be heard early in the evening. American club underground repertoire makes its way into his bag. 1985: 'Jackin' the house', Chicago's club scene continues to develop and the terms house nation and house vibes find their way to Europe. The clubs are the safety valve of the US gay scene. Here the steam is let off that shortly later is to get the Vogue club cooking. The word 'party' becomes a permanent fixture in Väth´s vocabulary.

1986
Still DJ in the Vogue club, he starts making a name for himself on an international level as a party master. He works in Ibiza and following to his return to Frankfurt he produces his debut project, OFF and the Stan Ridgeway-inspired single 'Bad News' (on the Bellaphon label), with Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti (later to form Logic/SNAP). This makes Sven the first club DJ in Germany to produce and market himself. It also lays the foundation for the 'Sound of Frankfurt'. In the same year, he and Münzing/Anzilotti produce the second single, 'Electrica Salsa'.

1987
At the beginning of the year Sven switches back to the Dorian Gray (which has grown since his early days) and becomes co-patron of Belgian techno/underground music (later to be called Electronic Body Music - EBM). It's motto: pogo instead of disco fox dancing. 'Electrica Salsa' turns out to be an international success and tours throughout Europe and South America follow. In the middle of the year the follow-up single 'Step By Step' is released, then 'Harry Aber Jetzt' and 'Timeoperator', and, in November, the album 'Organisation For Fun'. Without the German press noticing it, the underground club hit, 'Be My Dream' (album track) is declared 'Gothic Techno' in the USA and England.

1988
In February 1988 SVEN leaves the Dorian Gray (to go to Paris and do dance performances). After his return that summer, he buys the venerable Vogue together with Michael Münzing and Matthias Martinsohn. Following the complete renovation and the grand opening in the beginning of October, the club is called 'Omen' and writes a new chapter of club history. SVEN brings the acid sound (smiles!) to Germany. He produces the new single 'La Casa Latina'.

1989
Acid loses popularity. House-style vocals still have a chance on the dancefloor. Release of the second OFF-album, 'Ask Yourself', produced by Matthias Hoffmann (now EYE Q). Single 'Move Your Body'. The b-side, 'Das Licht', is the first tranquil club hit. Sven splits with his former producers Münzing/Anzilotti and continues his project MOSAIC with producers Matthias Hoffmann and Steffen Britzke. Result: 'It Is Serious' (later to be covered by ENIGMA 'Sadeness'), the first track with a choir. MOSAIC remixes such classics as 'Déja Vu' by SPLIFF and 'Oxygène' by Jean-Michel Jarre and creates the basis for further assignments.

1990
MOSAIC's follow-up single 'Dance Now' becomes very successful and goes into the charts. Sven's turntable style becomes harder, the nights longer. This summer techno breaks out in Germany. Sven is again one of the first to accept, adapt and play this music. The Omen club becomes an international meeting place for club culture; Sven is its protagonist. By the end of the year, hard beats and energetic vibes dominate at the Omen.

1991
Together with publisher/manager Heinz Roth and producer Matthias Hoffmann, Sven forms the EYE Q label. First hit is ZYON's 'No Fate'. Sven shifts his set to 'hypnotic, monotone house music', later to be called trancehouse, and through his work supports many productions in the Frankfurt area: the 'Sound of Frankfurt' takes on a new dimension. His commitment to the techno-house scene also influences the repertoire at EYE Q, for whom he produces many remixes.

1992
Sven ('The Godfather of Techno') deejays in leading clubs around the world. He establishes the DJ label HARTHOUSE and released the Album 'The Art of Dance' under the pseudonym BARBARELLA. In the middle of the year he meets Ralf Hildenbeutel and begins production of his first album in his own name: 'Accident In Paradise'. Release in September. Formation of an additional label, recycle or die. The goal of all three labels: the establishment of new electronic music on the basis of German avant-garde music - far beyond any commercial structures.

1993
Release of the single tracks from the album and their remixes: 'Ritual Of Life', 'L'Esperanza' (charts) and 'An Accident In Paradise'. At the same time, besides many productions for HARTHOUSE, EYE Q establishes itself on a worldwide basis and signs a deal with WARNER MUSIC GERMANY.

1994
Sven Väth is by far the most successful DJ in the world. (The press calls him 'the only German pop star'). Start of production for the new album, 'The Robot, The Harlequin And The Ballet-Dancer', with Ralf Hildenbeutel ('spiritual amp').

1995
Release of the Remix-Album 'Touch Themes of Harlequin -Robot- Ballet-Dancer', including Remixes of B-ZET, UNDERWORLD and SPEEDY-J, whose remix of 'Ballet Fusion' is also released as a single. Sven is without exaggeration Europe's Nr. 1 DJ ('Sven is Holy Man and Big Chief of European Techno' NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS) and simultaneously successful all over the world: from Japan over Mexico to the US, where he is elected to be the first DJ at the famous 'Lollapalooza Festival'. Together with B-ZET (Steffen Britzke), Sven starts a new project ASTRAL PILOT and with 'Electronic Acupuncture' he again releases a milestone setting album apart from the mass-compatibility of many other releases.

1996
Sven produces the soundtrack for the Ralf Huettner movie 'Der Kalte Finger' ('The cold finger') together with Stevie B-Zet. In April, initiation of his event project series COCOON. Naturally its first station is Frankfurt (Sven's home base), second is in Munich and the last one in Copenhagen at the Art-Festival. Sven's first official North American tour is a major success, playing the best clubs and parties in 9 cities from coast to coast.

1997
Sven's Pinnacle Power takes a whole new direction as he leaves the EYE Q/ HARTHOUSE company to begin a fresh start, a new and exciting beginning that will take him well into the next century. He also forms a booking agency to feature and support the many talented acts he is interested in.

1998
In March 1998, Sven Väth's new record company Virgin Records releases his fourth album FUSION, a potpourri of techno, house, trip-hop, electro and big beat elements. The album lives up to its name: on FUSION, the typical Väth sound is updated, modernised and obviously stratified.

Sven Väth starts his FUSION World Tour, playing not only all over Europe but also in Asia, America and Canada.

Sven Väth seeks contact with various remix artists worldwide in March. He enthuses names such as Claude Young, Richard Bartz, Johannes Heil, Sensorama (aka Roman Flügel & Jörn Wuttke), Michael Mayer, Thomas Krome, Chris Liebing, Steve O'Sullivan and Buckfunk 3000 (aka Simon Begg) with his idea to remix the best tracks of the FUSION album with completely different individual styles. The results are released in mid 1998 on limited vinyl - six records, which are already much-asked-for collector's items. The six cover sleeves of the 12inch singles reveal - when fitted together- an over dimensional headphone.

Sven reaches a time in 1998 where he bids farewell to a major element in his life: the legendary OMEN shuts down its doors forever to the public on October 18th, 1998.

Typically Sven Väth: 'an end is simultaneously a new beginning, one should never stand still'. For the sake of keeping a platform for electronic music in Frankfurt alive, he initiates Cocoon Club. (Cocoon started its first events in 1996, was stopped however, due to organisational reasons). He chooses U60311 as location, where every second Friday of the month Cocoon Club takes place. Cocoon stands for metamorphosis, development, new birth, surprises...

1999
The big year to set new milestones - Sven Väth cannot be stopped... The next step is the release of all the six maxi-vinyls as a regular album and under the name of 'SIX IN THE MIX'. In this year also Sven initiates another world tour- the 'SIX IN THE MIX' Tour.

Cocoon sprouts further into Cocoon Clubbing, a mobile event agency touring in Germany's most well-known techno clubs such as Stammheim/Kassel, Tribehouse/Neuss and Prag/Stuttgart.

But this is not all: Cocoon Club@Amnesia, Ibiza with four events in the first test phase, proves to be a major success and a positive experience for many. Cocoon Club becomes a permanent element of Amnesia's season (every Monday from June till September).

Since early 1999, Sven Väth and Cocoon have been working closely together with Surface (Frankfurt) on the new cocoon web pages, available for all surfers starting April 2000 under www.cocoon.net. Information regarding Cocoon Events, Cocoon Booking, Sven Väth, Cocoon Merchandising and other projects in the making, such as Cocoon Club Radio and the Cocoon label can be found under www.cocoon.net.

For his new album 'CONTACT' (release date March 27th, 2000) and parallel to Cocoon's flourishing development, Sven Väth co-produces twelve tracks with producers such as Anthony Rother, Johannes Heil, and Alter Ego. The new album proves to be a piece of art with extraordinary flair and musical diversity.

CONTACT is a Frankfurt project - not only regarding the music it embodies. The responsible man behind the styling concept is Daniel Wöller, the photographer is Marc Trautmann, the graphics artist is Markus Weisbeck (Surface), and even the entire team involved in the video production come from Frankfurt.

2000
Sven starts his CONTACT 2000 World Tour in February. With 33 gigs in three months, he has sufficient time and space to introduce his new album. Varying from gig to gig, he presents one of the three co-producers of the album -Alter Ego, Anthony Rother or Johannes Heil at his side.

Cocoon grows unstoppably. Within Cocoon Recordings, Sven establishes - together with Pauli Steinbach and Toni Rios - a further platform for DJs and acts. Apart from several single releases, the Cocoon Compilation 'A' is released in June 2000. Since August 2000 the two-hour radio broadcast 'pitch control' hosted by Pauli and Chris Liebing is on air, featuring interviews, guests and loads of music. After four dates in 1999, Cocoon is now represented in Ibiza each Monday with 14 dates at the Amnesia. Sven's idea of connecting Electronic Music with other forms of art, and thus offering the crowd a multi-sensual experience, is brought to life in the most perfect way in Ibiza. The connection of music, visual arts and the breathtaking surrounding on the island probably forms the most beautiful 'cocoon'. Being impressed by the atmosphere, and in order to provide his fans with a memory of this summer, Sven decides to produce his first official Mix-CD ever: 'Sven Väth In The Mix - The Sound Of The First Season' is released on Cocoon Recordings in November 2000.

In December 2000, Virgin Records releases a compilation of ten tracks, forming a cross-section of the musical output throughout Sven's years at EYE Q, entitled 'Retrospektive 1990-1997'. Sven Väth is - in the true sense of the word - a global player. This shows in the fact that he tours all over the world, that he is official Cultural Ambassador of the German Goethe Institute, or in his performance at the EXPO 2000 in Hannover, where he spinned simultaneously with Ken Ishii in Tokyo and Kit Clayton in San Francisco.

2001
This year sees a tremendous rise in popularity for Sven. Sven still has bookings world wide; he plays big festivals like I Love Techno in Belgium, Dance Valley in the Netherlands, Rave on Snow in Austria or Mayday in Germany. His Residency at the Amnesia in Ibiza, as well as in New York's top club Twilo and London's very own The End consolidate his image as one of the Global Players in Electronic Music. Resulting from the wild and rockin' nights in the Amnesia and the chilling and relaxed atmosphere in the After Hour Club Cala Llonga is 'The Sound of the Second Season - Noche y Dia', Sven's second Mix-CD. The first sign of Sven Vath's ninth artist album, a cover version of Serge Gainsbourg's Classic 'Je T'aime...moi non plus', a duet with French DJ Queen Miss Kittin, is released on Dec, 3rd. In March 2002, Sven's new album 'Fire' is released. The corresponding Fire World Tour with about 60 gigs world wide lead his way to almost all continents, dozens of countries and the most exclusive and important clubs of the world.

2002
After the 'Fire' World Tour and after the end of Cocoon's 2002 Summer Season in Ibiza, where the Cocoon Club hosted its fourth residency at Amnesia, Sven is looking back to the event series. On 'The Sound of the Third Season', he once more pursues different paths: together with co-resident Richie Hawtin, he managed not only to bring the music on CD, but also the unique atmosphere at the Cocoon parties by including radio-play-like sequences from the club. After this, Sven produced his first 12' for his own label Cocoon Recordings: 'Vision' is not only an hommage to the Festival of Electronic Music in the Swiss mountains but also a successful club hit. Besides his bookings all over the world, Sven works on the production of the Remix Album 'Fire Works', which includes remixes of the 'Fire' tracks, made by well known colleagues. 'Fire Works' is released in March 2003 and takes Sven once more to an extended World Tour.

2003
The 'Fire Works' Tour is highly successful and wherever Sven plays, he leaves behind a happy and enthusiastic audience, may it be in Europe, Asia or America. Besides his numerous bookings in this time, Sven is mainly busy with the conception of the Fourth Season of the Cocoon Club in Ibiza. However, another event casts its shadows: the Green&Blue Open Air at the Waldschwimmbad Atlantis in Obertshausen near Frankfurt. The Ibiza Season turns out to be the most successful Cocoon event series on the island so far and the last party 'The Final' on September, 15th of 2003 literally ends it with a Bang! The Green&Blue Party is the last Open Air event of the year in Germany and represents something very special for Sven: for the first time in his career, he plays in his hometown Obertshausen. The idea for this rather unique event originally came from the local authorities and Sven and his company Cocoon were prepared to listen. Not only was the Waldschwimmbad Atlantis the perfect place for the Green&Blue, it also provided the name for the party: the vast lawn and the old trees created a perfect contrast to the blue water of the basins. For Sven, it was both a comeback to the place where he learned to swim as well as a reunion with many friends from back then. In October 2003, the Mix CD 'The Sound of the Fourth Season' is released on Cocoon Recordings as a double CD and hit the German Compilation charts on No. 15.

2004
Besides the next Ibiza Season and the second edition of the Green&Blue festival, another highlight is approaching: six years after the Omen closed, Sven Väth is opening a new club in Frankfurt: the Cocoon Club. This project is undoubtedly the biggest in Sven's life so far and will set new standards for clubbing worldwide.

2005
Being state-of-the-art, the CocoonClub fascinates guests from all over the world and proves Sven's status as a leading figure in contemporary music.

2006
This year, Sven's annual World Tour lasts from January to May. First, he played a few gigs in Europe, then turned to Japan for two shows and went on to South America. In Medellin / Colombia, Sven played an amazing party together with Richie Hawtin and four shows in Brazil, which were also a landmark in his tour schedule. The seventh season of the CocoonClub Ibiza was a highlight lasting for three months, seeing Sven play ten times and the Closing Party 'being one of the best nights I ever had.' In summer, he headlined several Open Airs like SonneMondSterne, Nature One, Vision, Street Parade and of course the Green & Blue Open Air in his hometown Obertshausen near Frankfurt. Remarkable releases in 2006 are the annual Ibiza Mix CD 'The Sound of the Seventh Season', being released in November and his collaboration with Anthony Rother for 'Springlove'. In October, a very special highlight takes place: Sven plays an exclusive show with Underworld at the CocoonClub Frankfurt.
