Biography of Ciconte
Ciconte has been destroying dancefloors for years. A native to Washington, DC, he's played shows with Paul Oakenfold, Bad Boy Bill, JJ Flores, DJ Bam Bam, Macca, Richard F, Tony B, Paul Anthony and Bryan Cox - to name a few - and is fast gaining recognition as one of the world's greatest closing DJs. With a hectic nationwide and international schedule, Ciconte regularly plays at many super clubs such as Ibiza (DC), Fur (DC), Nation (DC), Club Rain (Halifax); top east coast venues like Ultrabar (DC), Club Five (DC), Transit (VA), Sonar (Baltimore), and The Paradox (Baltimore).
In 2005, Ciconte and a few of his close DC DJ friends founded District Ignition - a DC promotion and music collective - with the sole purpose of taking over the DC EDM scene. With the help of Ciconte's forceful beats and ability to drive crowds crazy with his infectious grooves, District Ignition now manages two of the biggest and best weekly events in DC: Snatch @ Ultrabar [FRI] and Glow @ Ibiza [SAT].
Snatch is one of the only regular, long standing underground house events left in the city. Hosted in the vault area of the infamous Ultrabar, Snatch brings world class, local talent to the crowd in an intimate setting.
In an effort to expose more of the DC underground scene to the international super club Ibiza, District Ignition has jumped on board with the staff of the club and Panorama Productions to promote the legendary party known as GLOW. While New York may be known as the city that never sleeps, DC now revels within the confines of Ibiza Nightclub. Each Saturday night, GLOW defines the EDM scene in the nation's capital with a weekly showcase of the world's best DJs and electronica artists. Residents at GLOW include such artists as Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, George Acosta and Pete Moutso.
Aside from his DJing schedule, Ciconte is pioneering his trademark sound, ChiProgoFunk - a combination of Chicago, Progressive and Funky Electro House.
