Biography of J. Ben Leonard

J. Ben Leonard writes for listeners, bluntheads, fly ladies, and prisoners. A sensitive guy, he tends to cry on Cooley High when Cochise dies.

He currently reps Providence, Rhode Island with his lovely wife Heather and their enormous cat, Addie. In addition to floodwatchmusic, he is a contributor to EarFuzz(http://earfuzz.com/) and in his spare time he writes 55-word stories(http://floodwatchmusic.com/blog2/55-word-stories/).

What exactly is Floodwatchmusic?

Floodwatchmusic is my self-aggrandizing audioblog, although I try my best to adhere to the listen-to-how-great-this-is concept rather than adopting a look-how-much-I-know stance. I eat, sleep, live, and breathe music, and I enjoy sharing it. That, in a nutshell, is what this site is about.

So, then it’s just another blog?

I like to think that there’s a distinction between an audioblog or an mp3 blog and just a regular, garden-variety weblog. I try to add a personal touch, but the general rule here is that every post must be music-related and must have some sort of context for the music presented; you won’t find entries about what I had for breakfast, how much my day job sucks, or some form of crust I found on my right foot, which is content that I usually associate with weblogs. There are already enough of those out there, and frankly, my life just isn’t that interesting.

What are your all-time favorite records?

This list changes constantly depending on my mood, but the following fifty or so records tend to come to mind when thinking about my favorites:
