Biography of Codine

Detroit's Erik Cronin, aka Codine, has been an electronic music producer since the late 90s and has collaborated with several like minded artists. Previously a bass player for several bands, he was introduced to techno and industrial in the early 90s, which forever altered his artistic vision.

Using a wide range of hardware and software devices in the studio and live, he has created a diverse sound that refuses to be bound any single genre. Influences range from industrial acts such as Front Line Assembly and Nitzer Ebb to Detroit techno legends, Underground Resistance and Aux 88.

Comment: You don't to need to read anything that I write about Detroit, I flew in once in the nineties and saw the ashes and remnants of what was created there regarding Techno. But this Codine set is really deep and desolate sounding, which is kind of the impression I got of Detroit while waiting for a flight at the "other" airport. It's highly recommended and it took me right back there.
