Biography of Traxx

Not content to be labeled as merely a DJ, a producer, or even a DJ/Producer, Traxx is a lover of music—one with a passion so intense that it overcomes genre divides to weave an altogether original, exciting, and multi-textured musical fabric which envelops both the avid clubber and the home listener, as well as everyone in between.

As a self-described “artist of sound,” Traxx morphs musical compositions into distinctive, highly emotional interpretations—he is, indeed, an innovator, and one who reshapes music into a progressive, forward-thinking document which defies classification and invites analysis and discussion. From eclectic and avant-garde tunes to old school jack tracks and lounge grooves, Traxx hears it all . . .

Comment: Unknown Musical Structure mixes by Traxx got thoroughly WORN OUT in my home and car back in the day (1994-1999), so much so that I think I bought Vol. 2 at least 3 separate times. I'm NOT complaining though. The tracks he drops on this mix really capture a moment in time, when people were rolling but not E-tarded, when all the people going to a party wanted to do was find that groove and just LOCK the f!*k into it for hours; I would strongly argue that Traxx is among the 4 or 5 DJs from this era who could truly put the dancefloor under a spell, and his Unknown Musical Structures mixtapes did as good of a job as one can in trying to capture that live vibe onto cassette tape. Call it pure, call it jack, call it tracky as F!*K, but whatever you may deem this style of House music, respect to the man who spun it and has devoted his life to sending us the message.
