„Since the very beginning of our record label we have only produced and released music that corresponds with our own personal taste,” is the guiding principle of the German producer-DJ team Milk & Sugar. It is pretty much surprising they could become that much successful while having this admittedly non-commercial attitude. But first we should take a look on the early stages of Milk & Sugar.
Under the influence of the first Discohouse movement that swapped over from London in 1996, Michael “Milk” Kronenberger and Steffen “Sugar” Harning produced their first housemusic tracks. But it turned out to be impossible to get a contract with any significant record label. So they made a virtue out of necessity and decided to found “Milk & Sugar Recordings.”
Even before their international chart successes with “Let The Sun Shine” and “Love Is In The Air”, Milk & Sugar became internationally renowned as one of Germany’s leading House-Acts. Their record label has already released more than 90 productions! And since winning the German Dance Award (GDA) in 2000, they’ve earned even more respect by doing remixes for Jamiroquai, Usher, Janet Jackson, Mya, and also the hit version for Robbie Riveras Y2K- smasher “Bang”!
This year they could arouse the attention of all world-class house DJs like Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo or Frankie Knuckles with their Single „Has Your Man Got Soul“ (includes remixes from Jamie Lewis and Ian Carey). And right now, they are coming with the next smasher called „Stay Around For This“ , including a massive Till West & DJ Delicious Remix.
Milk & Sugar are not only fully booked-up as producers and remixers, but every weekend they play at the most trendy party locations all over the world, including exotic spots like Eastern Europe, South Africa, Mexico, Middle East and the Mediterranean Islands Ibiza and Mallorca. They are well known for their own style of funky and uplifting house music productions, which can be found in the DJ cases of top-DJs like Pete Tong, Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo, Basement Jaxx, George Morel, Groove Armada, David Morales, and many more....
As long as they keep their device “we love best what the crowd is going for” they will continue to rock decks into biblical age.
