Biography of Diesler
Jonathan Radford’s Diesler project reinforces the Cherrystone’s notion that every cloud has its silver lining (or every piece of vinyl has a sample on it). Diesler is a one-man bandito who grew up out in the sticks near Burnley and still resides in the surrounding valley. A First Class graduate at the University of Central Lancashire, in BA New Music and Media, Diesler also records with Andrew ‘Beppu’ Hargreaves under the ‘Pizzmoe’ moniker.
The first step was taken in the shape of his debut for TT ; ‘Cotton Wool’. Written when he was 20, it is his first track ever to be played on Radio One! Early influences include a varied selection of artists including David Holmes, To Rococo Rot, Can, Andy Votel, Cherrystones, and The Remote Viewer to name a few. Film is also is a big influence to Diesler as this encompasses a perfect combination of the score and images as well as sound effects.
Aside from this it is also important to mention that Diesler is not a trendy producer at all. In fact (in contrast to some characters he has met in record shops who love to name drop and talk the talk), Diesler’ s ethic is just to keep his head down and to just work like a mule on music and maybe, just maybe, come up with enough songs to cobble together for a coherent album, but lets take things one step at a time!
