There are many DJs who claim to be 'all about Detroit'. Well, Harley is not only from Detroit, he embodies it. Detroit is the home of techno and the sound of Detroit techno flows through Harleys' veins. From an early age, the DJ world coincided with the theatre for Harley. He began his music career in 1987 as a roadie, and lighting operator for the legendary DJ Bill. For the next 7 years Harley became a respected club DJ, and studied lighting and sound design. After seeing Rich Hawtin play at Hardest, Harley decided to change direction and immersed himself in the mid '90s Detroit rave scene. Over the past ten years Harley has established himself as Detroit's premier lighing designer for dance environments, and currently works for Burst L.L.C. as lighting designer, and sound tech. In 2002, Harley and Doc Raymond began broadcasting on the internet on www.NewDetroitRadio.com. New Detroit Radio has grown to become a respected outlet for the wealth of underrated talent that Metro Detroit has to offer. Harley is a DJ that refuses be pigeonholed by constantly seeking out new and interesting music, and keeping an open mind and ear. Techno is still his mainstay, but he also plays D&B, House, Acid, or anything else that catches his fancy. He's built a reputation by seemlessly blending Techno, to D&B, and back again. Harley has began producing, and hopes to have his own music released in the near future. Harley From Detroit can be heard every week live on NewdetroitRadio.com.
