Biography of 100% Isis
Isis van der Wel, has always been a major force on the Dutch and European dance scene. Since 1997 she's been performing around the world. Showing a talent for music already at the age of six, Isis attended music- school. At age of seven she played several instruments. Lack of inspiration made her buys her first (house) record at 12 (1987). Lack of inspiration became inspiration. After two years of serious clubbing she started mixing.
Clubs: She has played in practically the entire gamut of (European) quality clubs like: Roxy (NL), Chemistry (NL), The End (London), Amnesia (Ibiza), Space (Ibiza), Pac(IbizRex (Paris), Tresor and E-werk (Berlin), Fuse (Brussels), Cafe D'Anvers (Antwerp), Space (Miami). Opium Garden (Miami) and has had several residencies throughout Europe: a 3 year residency@ the world famous Amsterdam based Roxy (NL), a 5 year residency@ Chemistry (NL), a 2 year residency@ Privilege (F), summer residency @Dance Valley (Ibiza) and a 3 year residency at State of Bliss (NL) Selected feval and streetparade performances: Penguin Festival (F), Festival des Amplitudes (F), Dance Valley (NL), Mayday (D), New Frontier (NL), Love Parade (Berlin), FFWD Parade (Rotterdam), Love Parade (Tel Aviv), Street Parade (Zurich), WMC (USA), Mysteryland (NL), UltraFestival@ WMC (USA), Atmosphere festival (B), Lovefields (NL), Torhout (B), Shine Festival (NL), Impulz Outdoor (NL), Massive (NL) Tours: Indonesian tour, Mexican tour, eastcoast USA tour, Indian tour, South American tour, several Turkish, Scandinavian and Israelian tours and State of Bliss on tour Valsinestra(S) Projects: WORLD EXPO 98 (Lisbon), Tokyo (400 years Holland/Japan celebration), HollandFestival ( John Cage songbooks live performance), Aman (Jordan) Adding to just more than DJing, she initiated the production of the popular underground ClubLove parties in Km5 in ’99 and was one of the founders of State of Bliss the collective & club night icw. with Dimitri, 00-Kaap and Kim Tuin.
Every first Saturday of the month you can visit her new clubnight All is One at Amuse Theatre in Amsterdam. In January 2002, Isis started her own agency called MAGMA. Her sparkling style and playful approach can be best described as an uplifting adventure into the here-and-now of modern dance music. This results into a unique blend of organic universal techno, unconventional house, tribal-and Latin-influenced grooves and anything original and genuine.
