Biography of Apes on Tapes
In May 2005, the project Apes on Tapes did not exist yet. Antani and Lagàr were two Homework artists, but since they listened to each other’s live performances, at the Homework Festival 3.0, they understood they had to collaborate. Lagàr appreciated Antani’s feelings for the hip-hop rythms and his melodic reversed guitars. Antani noticed Lagàr’s fat basses and his hip-hop minimalism...in other words they found out they had to become a duo, since one could fill the other’s lacks and vice versa. This is how Apes on Tapes was born in the spring-summer 2005, right after the Festival. In these months Apes on Tapes brought their live-set at Cassero (Bologna), MUV Festival (Florence), Millennium (Bologna) and played dj-sets at Sesto Senso (Bologna).
