DJ doormouse is an in-your face DJ/ENTERTAINER. Witnessing doormouse, one may note that he is is the catalyst of the 'vibe'(magnanimous energy). Having performed in amphitheaters, nightclubs and private homes in more than a 3 dozen states coast II coast, doormouse is an opportunity 2 connect with the kindred soul. THE *PHYSICAL MAKE-UP* of doormouse along with his performance lends 2 futher understanding 2 its outcome. His natural ability 2 read his audience on the spot, selecting and mixing compositions spontaneously is more than a comfortable environment 4 all. Entertaining 4 all ages, from the very young 2 the 'old school', his ability 2 tailor a set 2 an audience may be unmatched. HE SETS THE PACE. DJ doormouse is as engaged as much, if not more in the music as his audience. Owner of the Distort and Addict labels based in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Doormouse has been producing some of the most slammingest sick-ass jams since 1852. The OG midwest badass. One of my very favorite producers ever of all time. Sick! Dennis Hopper sick. Imagine camping with Dennis Hopper and he roofies you out in the woods somewhere and you wake up sewn to a family of badgers. Well he's sicker. This man will tear you a new shithole. Lots of folks talk all kinds of shit about Dan, legendary shit, meat in his ass, crossfader dick, whatever, you fucks don't know shit, he's sicker than that.
Dan 'Doormouse' Martin has been dj'ing since '94 and producing since '96. Working for labels such as Planet Mu, Schematic, Tigerbeat6 sublabel Violent Turd, Zod, his own Addict and Distort labels and countless others. Releases range from the feverish hardcore of earlier Distort records to the jazz flavored experimental beats of newer efforts. Upcoming releases include a 2cd (one mix, one original production) on Violent Turd (just out meanwhile), A full length album with Otto Von Schirach, several 12 inches on Addict (including asplit with Venetian Snares) and numerous compilation tracks for labels all over the world. Live performances are an experience with Dan going all out to interact with the crowd, consistently dropping new styles and forms.
