Biography of Pavi
After becoming inspired in the early days of Ambient by the likes of Eno and Sylvian, and by endless hours spent cruising the gaps between stations on shortwave radio late at night, Paul Vincent Farrell (better known as Pavi) landed a spot as an FM radio DJ and began producing programmes of ambience, soundscapes, and eclectic music in Australia and London, from the mid 1980's until the 2000's.
From 1993, he became established as a regular on the London club circuit with his sets of hybrid chill-out, minimal ambient, bamboo techno and exotica, and played clubs, festivals and events - in the UK, Australia, and Spain.
The vibrancy of Megadog, Escape From Samsara and Drome in London. Sunsets at Kumharas in Ibiza. Soundtracks for meditative journeys or fashion catwalks. Nightscapes in forests.
Pavi's approach is simple - a belief in the power of atmosphere.
This has led in turn to work including art installations, corporate event performances, music for flotation and healing centres, and eclectic tiki bar sets.
His activities encompass various media including photography, digital media, sound, video and installation, reaching across art, fashion, and club culture.
Pavi now lives in Tokyo, Japan.
