Biography of Chris Santiago

Chris Santiago began his house music career at the age of 20 and has not looked back since. Within 6 years Chris has made his mark in the house community by keeping a 5+ year residency for Chicago’s best Friday house night “Jack Fridays” and also has been making waves all over the world as “Santiago & Bushido” with record sales in the thousands.

As a DJ, Chris has been a staple for the Chicago house community for years. He holds his main residency for “Jack Fridays” at Zentra Nightclub with house promotion group House Arrest for 5+ years. Chris’s residency has him playing alongside the top echelon of house talent that comes through Chicago every week. “Jack Fridays” is known as one of the hottest house nights in the nation. Even though so many great house DJ’s reside in Chicago, House Arrest entrusts Chris to rock and pack the dance floor every Friday night and he has not failed to do so yet! From the smooth melodic deep end to harder techier sides of house; Chris touches both ends of the House spectrum in his sets. His energetic persona exemplifies his love for the music and the scene.

As a producer, Chris has been making waves all over the house music community. His collaboration with partner Tim Bush under the name “Santiago & Bushido” has been turning heads in the house community. Within their first year of breaking into the house scene, the duo has released 5 EP’s for numerous labels as well as doing remix work from No Assembly Firm, CPEN, DJ Heather, and Johnny Fiasco. Their tracks have been rocked by artists such as Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Johnny Fiasco, DJ Heather, Lawnchair Generals, Angel Alanis, Bryan Jones, the Sound Republic, Demarkus Lewis, Jake Childs, Bon Johnson, Greenskeepers, and Diz to name a few. This year is no different as the duo antipates releases on Blackcherry, Robsoul, Drop Music, Control Recordings, So Sound, and Uma Recordings.

Biography of Tim Bushido

As part of the next generation of house music producers and dj's coming out of Chicago Santiago & Bushido stay true to the Chicago sound but at the same time feel the need for innovation. They are continually trying to push the sound forward along with other artists that are currently influencing them such as Switch, Solid Groove, Style of Eye, Jacob London, Johnny Fiasco, and the Lawnchair Generals. Their unique style has gotten praise and big support from top jocks like Derrick Carter, Johnny Fiasco, Heather, Mark Farina, Lawnchair Generals, Demarkus Lewis, Jake Childs, Dizzy, Troydon, Diz, Bryan Jones, and the Sound Republic.

Their first major release Chicago MF on Doubledown Recordings was a major success charted by dj's all over the world. Chicago MF was given rave reviews in URB magazine and it laid the groundwork for future offers from prospective remix work and singles. They have current and upcoming releases on top labels such as Doubledown, WHO, Uniform, Black Cherry, Klassic Fiasco, Control, A2, Inuendo, and Prismatic. They have recently completed collaborations with artists such as Demarkus Lewis, Jake Childs, Hiroki and DJ Mes. As dj's they can be found Spinning weekly at Chicagos premier house night House Arrest at Zentra along side the best local and international talent House music has to offer. In addition to the big Chicago clubs they have played at various hot spots across the country. Since coming onto the scene in 2005 they have released 7 EPs and have done 5 remixes for various artists. Expect much more in the years to come!
