Biography of Halo
Since the age of 9, Brian Vargas aka DJ Halo, has been hard at work and to this day has still not slowed down. From the early days of working at Hip House records (Chicago) at the age of 9 to spinning at clubs before he could legally enter a PG-13 movie, this guy definitely doesn't punch out right after the whistle blows.
It's 1994-1995 and a culture that was once underground has its cover blown wide open. Across the country rave scenes are collapsing under police pressure. In Chicago, laws are being introduced to abolish the club culture once and for all. And, with all this impending doom, Halo takes the positive path and sets his eyes away from the dj booth and towards the studio. The foundation was poured and soon the building would begin. A job at Moody records as A&R allows the networking to begin.
Soon after, Halo's passport begins to get filled with stamps from around the world as his partnership with Hipp-e, as the H-Foundation, leads to the release of many chart burners. From Singapore to Tel Aviv and New York to Los Angeles, Halo's deep but hard and funky Chicago style educated many on the facet that just because your shit's deep doesn't mean it can't be tight.
With releases like H-Foundation's 'Funk Your Body' and the classic 'Future' on Siesta records, Halo's next step was the creation of his own label, Bleum. Already gaining a large buzz with releases like DJ Buck's 'release the tension' and Halo's very own Dirty Soil EP, the future is quite bright for this talented producer and DJ.
