Biography of DJ Greg J
Greg J runs the record label Funky Cactus Recordings and has a couple of releases, including forthcoming remixes of DJ Shadow, but is always thought of as a DJ first. With over 10 years behind the decks, his experience has placed him in control of 2, 3, and even 4 turntables at events across the United States, as well as in Toronto, Paris, Madrid, and other cities around the world. In his hometown he is a local headliner, fortunate to have played at many incredible events with Run-DMC, De La Soul, Sugarhill Gang, Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Z-Trip, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Krafty Kuts, Dieselboy, Mixmaster Mike, DJ Rap, Goldie, DJ Q-Bert, Shortkut, Atomic Hooligan, Afrika Bambaataa, Charles Feelgood, and many others. Highly acclaimed by The Bassbin Twins, Greg has also been complimented by DJ's and fans from all across the world who know him as one of the best mixing DJ’s around. His latest mix CD titled Jet Set is a leader in DJ mix compilation sales on iTunes. He holds down a Friday night residency at Whisper, one of the largest and hottest clubs in San Francisco, and has also headlined at every other club that counts in San Francisco, including Ruby Skye, 1015, Mezzanine, Mighty, and Space 550. When you see him behind the decks, expect him to keep the crowd hype with seamless mixing, an incredible selection, and hyper skratching. Greg J keeps the party live and is one DJ not to miss.
Aside from what he does behind the decks, Greg is one of the very few DJ's who also holds it down on the dancefloor. You'll often find him in the spotlight on the floor, busting flashy moves and showing that some DJ's have just as much rhythm with their feet as they do working the floor with the turntables. If there's a circle at the party, unless he's on the decks you'll definitely see Greg in it.
