Biography of James Nidecker

Extravagant DJ, producer and label owner James Nidecker comes from the electronic avantgarde with his roots going back to the punk and alternative electro scene, something that still vividly shows in his performance, music and DJ style. Behind the turntables he definitely has his own way of improvising and combining live vocals, weird effects and abstract sounds to his already pumping sound.

'Bend the rules before you obey them' is the reason why Controversial recordings was set up by James Nidecker and Roger Valdez. To avoid the usual faceless non-creative releases that are so common within the eletronic music scene, the label's direction is best known for its punk attitude and shock rockers mentality. With an aim to release music that is a punch in the face of 'everything that is normal' the label also wants to send out a message that 'being different takes a little more than trying to be original...'
