Biography of Guido Schneider
Guido Schneider has been producing electronic music since more than 10 years now. Strongly influenced by 'EBM' he started his first project in 1991 with a friend an the first records have been released on SPV.
In 1995 he founded his own Label 'Neue Welten' (New worlds) based in Celle, Germany. In 1996 he moved to Berlin where he began to fully focus on music. His productions and co-productions (e.g. as 'Schneider & Radeck' with Sammy D.) always sounded some sort of minimal, but also functional as he dared at an early stage to stick his head out of his soundlab and the experiences from various live performances helped to perfect his tracks.
In the late Nineties Guido had several releases on labels like Highgrade, Laufwerk and others. Another special milestone has been the birth of his daugther.
Changes marked the beginning of the new millennium: Guido closed down his label 'Neue Welten' and he met vocalist Florian Schirmacher. After the first joint studio sessons it became obviuos that Guido‘s production and Florian‘s vocal skills would complement each other perfectly and together they founded the project Glowing Glisses.
Glowing Glisses released 3 singles (on Poker Flat and Dessous Recordings) and their remarkable debut album 'Silver Surfer' on Poker Flat.
Inspired by the addition of Florian‘s vocals as an instrument to his music, Guido felt for the first time that he was alomst able to realise his musical ideas. The fascination that emanates from 'Silver Surfer' is based on the contrast between Florian‘s warm harmonic vocals and Guido‘s dry, minimal and subtle productions.
In 2002 Guido and Glowing Glisses joined Steve Bug, Märtini Brös and Martin Landsky on the Poker Flat World Tour around the globe. Back in Germany and highly inspired Guido began focussing on his solo project 'Guido Schneider'. His first Poker Flat single 'Triple Bolted' (pfr35) and the track 'Moved' layed out what huge potential Guido has. Two 12'eps followed in 2004: „Unterwegs mit Guido Schneider' (pfr47, including a fantastic remake of 'Moved') and 'Oh My Buffer'. These two 12'eps finally put Guido on the map of internationally acclaimed producers.
Guido has also been Steve Bug‘s first choice to remix his unstoppable classic 'Loverboy' for Poker Flat‘s 50th anniversary release.
In 2005 Guido will contribute an exclusive track for the 'Poker Flat Volume Four' album. He also works on a new EP and his first solo album!
