Biography of Astral Projection

Formed in 1993 , they were quite probably the first to bring goa trance to the masses and became the first world-wide known (goa) trance band. There most noted tracks are Mahadeva, Innovation, Power Gen, Kabalah, Let There Be Light and People Can Fly. The Astral Projection (Avi Nissim & Lior Perlmutter) is considered to be one of the most important psy-trance bands for the 90's worldwide. Astral Projection's previous albums were released worldwide (UK, Germany, France, Scandinavia, Greece) and in Asia and Japan. The group has gained great support from the various record companies (including TV ads), global media and the world's best DJ's. Paul Oakenfold (named by DJ Magazine the Number One DJ) and Danny Rampling play them regularly in their sets and on their popular radio shows on the British Radio 1, THE radio station in Britain.

Astral Projection have often flown across the globe to participate in huge festivals with thousands of participants such as Hyper State in Denmark and Norway, standing on one stage with the renowned Run D.M.C, Antiloop and others, The 1999 Love Parade in Berlin & Arvika Festival 2000 in Sweden. They have played in over 50 countries: USA, Taiwan, Japan, Russia, Estonia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Spain (Ibiza) at the 'Amnesia' Club, Greece, Germany, U.K. (including a gig in Cream), France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Bulgaria, Mexico, Canada, and Hungary to name a few. Their albums are well reviewed over the Internet in different sites, with some sites supplying details about the band and in some you can catch a tune or two by Astral Projection. MTV America plays their video clips on the web site.

So far two video clips have been released with their mega-hits People Can Fly and Dancing Galaxy. These clips have had extreme exposure on MTV Europe, the German Viva TV, the French Canal+ and M6, on the popular British Channel 4 and The Box and recently on MTV America. Astral Projection were invited to play at the opening night of 'The Israeli Season in France' the opening event celebrating Israel's 50th Anniversary in France, which was hosted by the French Minister of Culture, the Israeli Ambassador and some other VIPs. The Israeli Foreign Affairs Office and the Israeli Embassy who must have realized the cultural importance of such a band paid the fees. The Israeli Ambassador to Yugoslavia was photographed and interviewed with Lior Perlmutter (half the band) for the Yugoslavian media (newspapers, radio and TV). The French ARTE TV recorded a one hour show about global trance and made it a point to film Astral Projection in Israel! A large portion of the show was dedicated to the band.
