Ed Devane has been making various types of electronic-based music for 10 years to various degrees of success. While his recent commercial output has been in an electro-breaks style Ed does not limit himself in his productions and makes whatever feels good at the time.
Ed is from Ireland originally, and recently has been attempting to add an Irish flavour to some of his tracks with the vocal contributions of Niamh de Barra (who sings on 'Plastic Fat-tastic'). This may seem to be dangerous ground to tread, especially to anyone familiar with the horrors of Irish Trance, but Devane thinks it important to differenciate his music from the often 'international' sound of electronica. Watch out for his forthcoming remix of the national anthem, 'Amhrán na bhFiann.'
More than contributing to Irish culture Ed enjoys making noise, lots and lots of noise. Sound design sessions begin with heavily processed guitar drones and noises which eventually become mangled into useable shapes which make up most of the sounds in his tracks.
