Hevan Chan is a 31-year old graphic artist/designer residing in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. Although he isn't a DJ in a traditional sense, he enjoys blending and piecing together tunes of various genres that may or may not fit together. I guess that's why he enjoys playing Tetris. Well maybe. Having no formal training in the art of beat-matching and turntablism, Hevan began teaching himself how to blend different tracks by first using an old set of cassette decks, then later by using an old mixer (brand: unknown) and a pair of CD players.

And then came his first Mac - a Dual G4, and a slew of DJ'ing apps like Traktor and Ableton, and of course, iTunes - which enabled him to build his ever-growing catalogue of tunes. Having never DJ'ed in front of a crowd in his life, Hevan resorted to creating mixes on his Mac and distributing them to whoever would care to listen via the web.

While he may never spin out in front of a crowd nor enjoy the lifestyle of jetsetting across the globe, Hevan will continue to create mixes on his MacBook Pro (the G4 now resting peacefully in the great scrapheep in the sky), and hope his beatmatching skills will greatly improve.
