Biography of Augusto Merli

Augusto Merli , connected with music since a child. Always listening and learning how to like many styles, from Hip Hop to Reggae, from Rock to Popular Brazilian Music, from House to Techno. When he was a child he knew the so called 'dance music', at that time played by brazilian djs like Ricardo Guedes, Cuca and Iraí Campos. The best was record programs like 'launch break' and 'adrenalina' on 'Nova FM' Radio station and get those songs that nobody had.

But time went on, and the choice of one profession came at the High School, Data Processing Technician, fascinated with the computer world and its possibilities: games, sounds, images and etc. At That time the sound track was Punk Rock, Seattle Grunge and Sepultura Trash Metal. But in between that Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and Jamiroquai were emerging and the search started. Where could we listen to something like that? 'Manga Rosa', 'The Club', 'U-Turn', but mainly 'Lov.e' where dj Paula, Renato Cohen and Mau Mau have been playing for many years, it was there he found what he needed. From then on the fascination and the search were intense and up to now.

Nowadays, he is a System Analist, and his passion is Eletronic Music, Techno to be more specific. And the possibility to make old dreams come true. To have Turntables, records and why not join profession with passion, play and produce eletronic music. In 2003 the dj´s course at 'dj Ban' was the first step. From then on and at parties like Circuito new friends have been made and in between this in 2004 emerged the idea of starting a Techno Label, the 340M/S Records.In 2005 he was one of the selected to join the Red Bull Music Academy(RBMA) that took place in November in Seattle. A world-wide event that select every year 60 participants from many countries, among them: DJs, producers, MCs, singers, dancers, promoters, sound engineers, etc. These participants are joined for two weeks listening to experiences and tips from DJs, producers and musicians already established and they are free to use the studios to play a dj set or even to produce one track with the support of a technician.

Currently his dj sets have deep, minimal, Detroit and funky techno and house tracks. Playing melodic and atmospheric tracks, with much groove and great beats.
