Biography of Acidman

Chicago house mixologist 'Acidman' has been 'jacking up' dance floors for over 15 years now, a sum that has encompassed over half of his life. It was the godfather of house, Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk who inspired Acidman to purchase his 1st pair of Techinics 1200's back in 1986. Since that time he has mastered the delicate craft of mixing and become an inspiration in his own right to house lovers abroad.

Growing up, Acidman seemed destined to become a prosperous figure in the visual art world of graphic design. His exceptional skills with the pen and paper even landed him a scholarship opportunity with Chicago's Art Institute. Eventually he declined the offer to pursue his blossoming dj career. Even today, as a full time DJ Acidman is still a talented visual artist which is demonstrated in his attractive logo design. Acidman perceives himself as an artist behind the decks as well. 'I see each track as a different color or shade I can mix together to evoke a particular mood or reaction from the listener; the 12's are my brushes and the dance floor is my canvas. If you ask me what my style is the answer is house be it acid, vocal, classic, or jazzy I like to mix it all up.' Since day one of his dj career Acidman has strongly believed that the transition between two tracks (the mix) should be the most exciting part of a set. It is the stringent practice of this belief that has ascended Acidman to headlining status along side Chicago legends like Robert Armani, Green Velvet, and Paul Johnson not to mention headlining major events on his own. One promoter in Lima, Peru was so impressed after listening to an Acidman tape that he immediately booked him for the infamous Halloween Festival that occurs in Lima every year.
