Biography of Si Quick
Resident at hot house night Habit in Newcastle , England along with Scott ‘I once wore a stupid hat and held a gun outside the Queens house’ Udberg and Mark ‘Hotlips and other bits’ Johnson with The Saviour of Northeast Clubland, Danny ‘Bobby Charlton’ Pattison leading this band of merry men.
Previous guests who have braved the northeast atmosphere include Ben Watt, Frank from Ame, Funk D’Void, Desyn Masiello, James Holden, Alex Smoke and Lee Burridge…..most have returned for a reunion so there must be something good in the air up here
I’ve been lucky enough to have been asked to play at a load of Newcasle more discerning nights including The Other Rooms, Tokyo and Stereo. I’ve also enjoyed gigs in London at places including A10 @ Underbelly, Resonance @ Public Life/Ministry of Sound and last but certainly not least, 3partsand @ dodgy Russian gangster establishment, A10
As a founding member of DJ Supergroup, The Dilston Kru (really just 3 housemates who like the same music) ,saw us headlining at venues and nights such as Protoype @ World HQ, Resistance @ The Stoat and The Sound Sessions in top holiday resort, Whitley Bay aswell as a career low which saw us performing to 2 old ravers and a dog on a string at weird psy-trance festival, Thimbleberry…a weekend we wont forget in a hurry haha
I mostly play house and techno but I also enjoy doing “eclectic” (god i hate that word) sets…so far Ive done a couple at Tokyo on a Sunday afternoon, a 5 hour set in Habits backroom and my DJ’ing highlight so far, a peak time 60’s set at my mate Martins wedding alongside DJ extroadinare, Hotlips Johnson…it was enough to make me consider getting rid of all my trendy music and adopting a new, ‘public friendly’ stance on music….thankfully this has not quite come to fruition yet.

Derrick Carter and his head wobble, Trojan records and their verticalness, James Zabiela and his machines, H-Foundation and their dub rattle, Wu Tang and their rage, Lee Burridge and his bounce, the state of California and its knarliness, Gwen McRae and her power, Sasha and his receeding hairline, Augustus Pablo and his incoherent instruments, Daft Punk and their gallic chicago tendancies, Curtis Mayfield and his knee tremblers, James Holden and his weird kronies, DJ Ben Cook & MC Deadly and their predictability.
