Biography of Royale
Dope Recordings label founder, Roy England, hails from Los Angeles, California. It was love at first listen, after a friend introduced him to the underground techno scene in the early 90's. And so began his life of DJ-ing, electronic music production, and performance. Shortly after relocating to Boulder, Colorado in 1994, Roy started Dope Productions as an artist collective/ production crew. His reputation for getting hands in the air and booties-a-shakin led to US and Mexican tours, as well as a strong local following.
In 2002 Roy founded the Dope Recordings label, along with Thomas Kamholz, to put out their music, as well as to bring local talent into the spotlight. Roy's main techno moniker is Royale, though his releases appear in various styles; by himself and with friends; under the aliases IWA, Flacker, Broken Radio, Technomicon, The Subterraneans, Love Mafia, Ghost Pirates, and The Cryptophytes.

Biography of Attentat
Thomas Kamholz (a.k.a Attentat, Barnacle) was born in Pontiac,Michigan in 1978. In 1997, at the ripe age of seventeen, Thomas began his voyage into the world of DJing and all night dance-a-thons.
These days Thomas finds himself as cofounder of the Denver based record label Dope Recordings, and as musical director for the illustrious Communikey crew. Over the years, as a member of Communikey, Thomas has found himself playing alongside such names as Jan Jelinek, Bruno Pronsato, Geoff White, Mossa and many others. When not busy helping run the Dope label, or planning the next Communikey event, Thomas finds the time to lock himself in the studio striving to become a scholar of shaking asses. These endeavors have been released on the Dope Recordings label on beatport.com.
Thomas began writing his own tracks in 2000, the transition from DJ to producer was a natural one. Often deep and dubby, but also full of quirky delight, Thomas's sound has been known to fill the floor with dance crazed maniacs, ready to jack. With a strong influence from artists such as Cabanne, Ultrakurt, Pantytec and many more, Thomas's DJ sets and releases have often been described as 'dark, dirty, and nasty'. Residing in Colorado since 1999, Thomas has established himself as a Rocky Mountain favorite, able to hold it down amongst the heavy hitters that pass through the state.
Thomas also hosts 'Electronic Air', on Boulder's community owned radio station, KGNU. You can find Thomas along with friend and cohort Equality, throwing down the sickest, newest techno every fourth Saturday from 9-11pm, mountain standard time, at kgnu.org. With a decade of experience on his plate, Thomas has proven himself a master chef at moving a crowd and throwing it down. With beats that act like a tenderizer for the soul, Thomas is sure to work any party into a sweaty uncontrollable frenzy.
